Los pasados d\u00edas 13 y 14 de mayo, durante la presidencia griega de la Uni\u00f3n Europea y con la colaboraci\u00f3n de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Bibliotecarios Griegos<\/a>, se celebr\u00f3 en Atenas la 22\u00aa edici\u00f3n de la Conferencia Anual de NAPLE<\/a>–EBLIDA<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bajo el t\u00edtulo Libraries in transition: Changes? Crisis? Chances! <\/i><\/b>(ver programa<\/a>), y m\u00e1s de 120 participantes de toda Europa, la conferencia constituy\u00f3 un espacio de reflexi\u00f3n sobre el rol que las bibliotecas pueden y deben seguir desempe\u00f1ando en un momento de gran complejidad debido, entre otros, a los cambios tecnol\u00f3gicos, la aparici\u00f3n de nuevos h\u00e1bitos lectores y la reducci\u00f3n de recursos p\u00fablicos.<\/p>\n

En este marco cambiante, las bibliotecas deben ser capaces de comunicar mejor a la sociedad su papel en la formaci\u00f3n y el aprendizaje. Se destac\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n las bibliotecas como lugar<\/i> p\u00fablico, como lugar de encuentro, que contribuye a construir ciudadan\u00eda, a compartir conocimiento y a la integraci\u00f3n social. Las bibliotecas deben flexibilizar sus estructuras y estar \u00a0a la escucha de las necesidades de los usuarios, deben conocer qu\u00e9 desean aprender o poner en pr\u00e1ctica\u2026, y hacerlo posible en una\u00a0atm\u00f3sfera de trabajo que permita la prueba y el error. Es necesario convencer a los poderes pol\u00edticos del rol que las bibliotecas pueden desempe\u00f1ar en la comunidad para garantizar la asignaci\u00f3n de recursos suficientes (colecciones, personal, equipamientos\u2026).<\/p>\n

Durante la conferencia tambi\u00e9n se hizo referencia a la campa\u00f1a promovida por EBLIDA titulada El derecho de leer en electr\u00f3nico<\/span><\/a><\/span>, dirigida a la \u201cComisi\u00f3n de la Uni\u00f3n Europea para solicitar un marco claro de derechos de autor, que permita a las bibliotecas adquirir y prestar libros electr\u00f3nicos, con una remuneraci\u00f3n adecuada para los autores y otros titulares de derechos\u201d.<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

Entre los representantes espa\u00f1oles en la Conferencia se encontraban Concha Vilari\u00f1o<\/strong>, Subdirectora de Coordinaci\u00f3n Bibliotecaria del Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n, Cultura y Deporte<\/a>, Diego Gracia<\/strong>, Jefe de Servicio de Cooperaci\u00f3n Internacional\u00a0y Gl\u00f2ria P\u00e9rez-Salmer\u00f3n<\/strong>, vicepresidenta de EBLIDA, exdirectora de la Biblioteca Nacional y miembro de FESABID e IFLA Governing Board.<\/p>\n
