Bola\u00f1o comenz\u00f3 publicar tarde, con 40 a\u00f1os y en los 10 a\u00f1os que trascurrieron desde su primera publicaci\u00f3n hasta su muerte su producci\u00f3n literaria consta de poco m\u00e1s de una docena de libros de poes\u00eda, novelas y cuentos que le granjearon un reconocimiento generalizado por parte de cr\u00edtica y p\u00fablico, refrendado por premios tan importantes como el R\u00f3mulo Gallegos. Ha sido sin embargo, tras su muerte cuando su figura ha obtenido el mayor realce y una mayor difusi\u00f3n, especialmente tras la concesi\u00f3n a su novela <em>2666<\/em> el Premio a la mejor novela de ficci\u00f3n de 2008 por el C\u00edrculo Nacional de Cr\u00edticos Literarios de Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n<p>Tras su muerte se han editado diversos libros p\u00f3stumos: <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.elcultural.es\/version_papel\/LETRAS\/20453\/La_Universidad_desconocida\" target=\"_blank\">La Universidad desconocida<\/a>,<\/em> que re\u00fane su poes\u00eda completa, la citada <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.papelenblanco.com\/novela\/2666-es-la-novela-del-ano-segun-la-revista-time\" target=\"_blank\">2666<\/a><\/em> y <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.elmundo.es\/elmundo\/2010\/01\/27\/cultura\/1264611499.html\" target=\"_blank\">El Tercer Reich<\/a> <\/em>y este mismo a\u00f1o, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lavanguardia.es\/cultura\/20101219\/54091167177\/anagrama-publica-los-sinsabores-del-verdadero-policia-un-inedito-de-bolano.html\" target=\"_blank\">Los sinsabores del verdadero polic\u00eda<\/a>, <\/em>novela compuesta de tres partes desigualmente terminadas.
