On the 7<sup>th<\/sup> October, the <strong>Swedish Academy <\/strong>awarded <strong><a title=\"Mario Vargas Llosa, Nobel Prize\" href=\"http:\/\/nobelprize.org\/nobel_prizes\/literature\/laureates\/2010\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mario Vargas Llosa<\/a><\/strong> the <a title=\"Nobel Prize for Literature\" href=\"http:\/\/nobelprize.org\/nobel_prizes\/literature\/laureates\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Nobel Prize for Literature<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the 15<sup>th<\/sup> October, <a title=\"Eduardo Mendoza\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eduardo_Mendoza_Ceballos\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Eduardo Mendoza<\/strong><\/a> received the <a title=\"Planeta Prize\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Premio_Planeta\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Planeta Prize<\/strong><\/a>, the literary award with the highest financial pay-out in Spain, and on the 22<sup>nd<\/sup> October, the prize-giving ceremony for the <a title=\"Prince of Asturias Foundation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fpa.es\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Prince of Asturias Awards<\/strong><\/a> took place in Oviedo.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Prince of Asturias Awards <\/strong>are a series of annual prizes awarded in Spain by the Prince of Asturias Foundation to individuals, entities and organizations from around the world who make notable achievements in the sciences, humanities, or public affairs.<\/p>\n<p>In November, we would like to invite our readers to get to know the work of some the Spanish and Latin American authors awarded <a title=\"Prince of Asturias Awards for Literature\" href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Premio_Pr%C3%ADncipe_de_Asturias_de_las_Letras\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Prince of Asturias Awards for Literature<\/strong><\/a>, whose work is perhaps less well-known in the public domain.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"The library suggests NOVEMBER\" href=\"http:\/\/dublin.cervantes.es\/en\/library_spanish\/the_library_suggests_english.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Read more&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.addtoany.com\/share_save?linkurl=http%3A%2F%2Ficdublinlibrary.wordpress.com%2F2010%2F11%2F01%2Fprince-of-asturias-awards%2F&amp;linkname=Prince%20of%20Asturias%20Awards\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/static.addtoany.com\/buttons\/share_save_256_24.png\" alt=\"Share\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October was the month of awards.
