Con 21 a\u00f1os, mientras estudia en la Universidad de Chile, publica junto a sus compa\u00f1eros Jorge Millas (escritor) y Carlos Pedraza (pintor) la <em>Revista Nueva, <\/em>y tambi\u00e9n su primer libro <em>Cancionero sin nombre<\/em>. Tras finalizar sus estudios se dedica a la docencia, en la especialidad de F\u00edsica y Matem\u00e1tica.<\/p>\n<p>En 1954 Parra publica la obra que revoluciona no solo su propio estilo, sino que crea un antes y un despu\u00e9s en la forma de entender la poes\u00eda hispanoamericana.\u00a0<em>Poemas y antipoemas <\/em>despierta la creatividad del prol\u00edfico autor chileno, que a partir de este momento desarrollar\u00e1 su <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nicanorparra.uchile.cl\/antologia\/indexpoemas.html\" target=\"_blank\">antipoes\u00eda<\/a>:\u00a0\u00a0&#8220;una poes\u00eda a base de hechos y no de combinaciones o figuras literarias&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Pero m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la antipoes\u00eda, Parra sigue innovando, jugando con el lenguaje e incorpor\u00e1ndole elementos visuales para engendrar los &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nicanorparra.uchile.cl\/artefactos\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">artefactos<\/a>&#8220;: poemas, esl\u00f3ganes, im\u00e1genes que se funden en una cr\u00edtica a una cultura vacua y consumista, manteniendo as\u00ed el esp\u00edritu subversivo que acompa\u00f1a toda su obra.<\/p>\n<p>Desde aqu\u00ed os animamos a que conozc\u00e1is la obra de Nicanor Parra (pod\u00e9is encontrar algunas de sus obras en la biblioteca). The famous prize of the Spanish literature is worth 125,000 Euro and is awarded to writers &#8220;whose work had contributed to remarkably enrich the\u00a0literary heritage in Spanish.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is just one of the achievements that can be attributed to <a href=\"http:\/\/anayambaker.hubpages.com\/hub\/Biography-of-Chilean-Anti-Poet-Nicanor-Parra\" target=\"_blank\">Nicanor Parra<\/a>, a Chilean poet born in 1914 in a humble family in San Fabi\u00e1n de Allico. At age 21, while he was studying at the University of Chile, he published <em>Revista Nueva <\/em>together with the writer Jorge Millas and the painter Carlos Pedraza. The same year he published his first book, <em>Cancionero sin nombre. <\/em>After college, he started to work as a professor of Physics and Mathematics.<\/p>\n<p>In 1954 Parra published a work which not only revolutionized his own style, but was also a milestone in Latin American poetry. <em>Poemas y antipoemas <\/em>stir up the creativity of this prolific author who,\u00a0from that time on, started\u00a0to develop his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nicanorparra.uchile.cl\/english\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">antipoetry<\/a>: &#8220;a poetry based on acts, not\u00a0on combinations or literary devices&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>But besides antipoetry, Parra continues innovating, playing with the language and adding visual elements in order to create the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nicanorparra.uchile.cl\/artefactos\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">artefacts <\/a>&#8220;: poems, slogans and images melting into a criticism about our vacuous consumer society. The &#8220;artefacts&#8221; keep up the subversive style present in all his works.<\/p>\n<p>We encourage you to read Nicanor Parra\u2019s works (some titles are available in our library).
