Wikipedia (English)\" href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Luis_Garc%C3%ADa_Berlanga\" target=\"_blank\">Luis Garc\u00eda Berlanga<\/a> was well known by\u00a0his films and by his love for eroticism. He was director of the collection of erotic literature \u201c<span style=\"color:#000000\"><em>La Sonrisa Vertical<\/em><\/span>\u201d (The Vertical Smile) since its creation in <em>Tusquets<\/em> publishing house, along with the subsequent award for erotic literature of the same name.<\/p>\n<p>This month, here at the library we would like to invite our readers to get to know this literary genre, in honour of Berlanga, and, it goes without saying, <a title=\"Berlanga's films\" href=\"http:\/\/dublin.cervantes.es\/en\/library_spanish\/the_library_suggests_english.htm\" target=\"_blank\">revisit his body of films<\/a>, which will also feature in a film cycle dedicated to the director in the new year, organised by Instituto Cervantes Dublin.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Luis Garc\u00eda Berlanga\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cervantes.es\/bibliotecas_documentacion_espanol\/creadores\/garcia_berlanga_luis.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Luis Garc\u00eda Berlanga <\/a>falleci\u00f3 en Madrid el pasado 13 de noviembre a la edad de 89 a\u00f1os. Sus pel\u00edculas forman parte ya de la historia de Espa\u00f1a y del cine mundial. Quiz\u00e1s la m\u00e1s conocida sea \u201c<strong>Bienvenido Mr. Marshall<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>No menos conocido que su cine era su afici\u00f3n al erotismo. \u00c9l fue director, desde su creaci\u00f3n en la editorial <em>Tusquets<\/em>, de la colecci\u00f3n de literatura er\u00f3tica \u201c<span style=\"color:#000000\"><em>La Sonrisa Vertical<\/em><\/span>\u201d y del premio de literatura er\u00f3tica de este mismo nombre.<\/p>\n<p>Este mes, la biblioteca propone a sus lectores un acercamiento a este g\u00e9nero literario, en honor a Berlanga, y como no, un<a title=\"La biblioteca propone\" href=\"http:\/\/dublin.cervantes.es\/es\/biblioteca_espanol\/biblioteca_propone_espanol.htm\" target=\"_blank\"> repaso a su filmograf\u00eda<\/a>, que tambi\u00e9n ser\u00e1 recordada a comienzos del a\u00f1o pr\u00f3ximo, en un ciclo de cine organizado por el Instituto Cervantes de Dubl\u00edn.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.addtoany.com\/share_save?linkurl=http%3A%2F%2Ficdublinlibrary.wordpress.com%2F2010%2F12%2F01%2Ferotism-and-cinema%2F&amp;linkname=Erotism%20and%20Cinema\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/static.addtoany.com\/buttons\/share_save_256_24.png\" alt=\"Share\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Luis Garc\u00eda Berlanga was well known by\u00a0his films and by his love for eroticism.
