Est\u00e1 basada en la novela hom\u00f3nima del Premio Nobel de Literatura (1989) <strong>Camilo Jos\u00e9 Cela<\/strong> (1916-2002).<\/p>\n<p>Autor muy prol\u00edfico, trabaj\u00f3 como novelista, periodista, ensayista, editor y conferenciante. Fue acad\u00e9mico de la Real Academia Espa\u00f1ola y recibi\u00f3 numerosos reconocimientos como el Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1989 o el Premio Cervantes en 1995. Fue autor de m\u00e1s de 60 obras y de novelas memorables que tambi\u00e9n han sido llevadas al cine, destacando <em>La familia de Pascual Duarte<\/em> y <em>La colmena<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLa colmena\u201d es una historia coral que se inicia, y contin\u00faa a veces, en el caf\u00e9 <em>La Delicia<\/em>. El caf\u00e9 est\u00e1 siempre repleto de personas que huyen del fr\u00edo, que se refugian en la charla, en la compa\u00f1\u00eda, y en los sue\u00f1os\u2026 Son sesenta personajes, dentro y fuera del caf\u00e9, que vemos vivir en las calles y en las casas de la ciudad. Son un torrente de gentes que a veces son felices, y a veces, no. Tras ellos, como fondo, el paisaje urbano del Madrid de la posguerra, tan especial, tan distinto, tan s\u00f3rdido, tan luminoso a veces. El tema principal de la pel\u00edcula es el contraste entre los poetas que sobreviven a la miseria bajo el r\u00e9gimen franquista y los ganadores de la guerra, una clase emergente que hace dinero f\u00e1cil a trav\u00e9s de negocios ilegales.<\/p>\n<p>Dirige la pel\u00edcula <strong>Mario Camus<\/strong> (Santander, 1935). Estudi\u00f3 cine en la Escuela Oficial despu\u00e9s de pasar por la facultad de derecho. Destaca por su maestr\u00eda en la direcci\u00f3n de adaptaciones cinematogr\u00e1ficas al cine.<\/p>\n<p>A la proyecci\u00f3n le seguir\u00e1 un debate dirigido a todo tipo de p\u00fablico a cargo del profesor Juan Pablo Au\u00f1\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The second session of the cinemas series <a title=\"One book, one film\" href=\"http:\/\/dublin.cervantes.es\/FichasCultura\/Ficha80074_16_2.htm\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cOne book, one film\u201d<\/a> will take place today at 6pm in the Caf\u00e9 Literario. It will be screened the film <strong>\u201cLa colmena\u201d<\/strong>, the adaptation of one of the recent classics of the Spanish Literature. It is based on a 1943 book of the same title by the Nobel\u00a0Price in\u00a0Literature (1989)\u00a0<strong>Camilo Jos\u00e9 Cela<\/strong> (1916-2002).<\/p>\n<p>He was a prolific novelist, journalist, essayist, editor and lecturer. He was appointed member of the Royal Spanish Academy (Real Academia Espa\u00f1ola). Amongst some of the numerous awards he received are the 1989 Nobel Prize in Literature or the Cervantes Prize in 1995. He published over 60 works and memorable novels that were adapted to the cinema like <em>La familia de Pascual Duarte<\/em> y <em>La colmena<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;<\/strong>La Colmena&#8221; is an ensemble film that features the comings and goings of a wide variety of characters, all trying to survive in a poverty-stricken Madrid during World War II. Rather than feature any single story line, these people from all walks of life cross paths almost randomly as they come to a caf\u00e9 to sip their one cup of coffee and work on a book, or pick up a prostitute, or get their shoes shined, or play billiards, or just warm themselves on a cold winter&#8217;s day. The main theme of the film is the contrast between the poets, surviving close to misery under the Franco&#8217;s regime, and the winners of the war, the emerging class of the people that makes easy money with illegal business.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mario Camus<\/strong> (Santander, 1935) studied law followed by cinema studies at the Spanish Official Cinema<br \/>\nSchool. He belongs to the so called \u201cNew cinema generation\u201d together with Saura and Mart\u00edn Patino amongst others.
