Elia Barcel\u00f3\u00a0(Alicante, Espa\u00f1a, 1957) ha publicado novelas polic\u00edacas, hist\u00f3ricas, de ciencia ficci\u00f3n y g\u00e9nero fant\u00e1stico para adultos, as\u00ed como novelas para j\u00f3venes y ensayos. Ha recibido el Premio Gabriel 2007, galard\u00f3n reservado para las m\u00e1s importantes personalidades del g\u00e9nero fant\u00e1stico en Espa\u00f1a. Ha sido traducida al franc\u00e9s, italiano, alem\u00e1n, catal\u00e1n,\u00a0ingl\u00e9s, griego, h\u00fangaro, holand\u00e9s, dan\u00e9s, noruego, sueco, croata, portugu\u00e9s, euskera, checo, ruso y esperanto. Sus novelas traducidas al ingl\u00e9s hasta la fecha son:\u00a0Coraz\u00f3n de tango<\/em>\u00a0(2007), traducida al ingl\u00e9s como\u00a0Heart of Tango<\/em>\u00a0(2010) y\u00a0The Goldsmith\u2019s Secret<\/em>\u00a0(2011), traducci\u00f3n de\u00a0El secreto del orfebre<\/em>\u00a0(2003).<\/p>\n

Harry Clifton\u00a0(Dubl\u00edn, 1952) ha vivido una parte importante de su vida fuera de Irlanda (Nigeria, Extremo Oriente, Italia\u2026). De su estancia en Italia public\u00f3 sus memorias en prosa\u00a0On the Spine of Italy<\/em>. En 2004 regres\u00f3 a Irlanda. Entre sus colecciones de poemas se encuentran\u00a0The Desert Route: Selected Poems 1973-1988<\/em>\u00a0y\u00a0Secular Eden: Paris Notebooks 1994-2004<\/em>. Tambi\u00e9n es autor de una colecci\u00f3n de ficci\u00f3n,\u00a0Berkeley\u2019s Telephone and Other Fictions<\/em>(2000). Clifton fue nombrado Ireland Chair of Poetry en 2010. Ha recibido tambi\u00e9n el premio de poes\u00eda Patrick Kavanagh y dos premios Arts Council Bursaries de literatura. Sus obras han sido traducidas a varias lenguas europeas.<\/p>\n

Mar\u00eda Negroni\u00a0(Rosario, Argentina, 1951) es poeta, ensayista y novelista. Como poeta, ha publicado, entre otros libros:\u00a0Islandia<\/em>,\u00a0El viaje de la noche<\/em>,\u00a0Arte y Fuga<\/em>,\u00a0La Boca del Infierno<\/em>\u00a0y\u00a0Cantar la nada<\/em>. Tambi\u00e9n ha publicado varios libros de ensayos y dos novelas. Ha traducido, entre otros, a Emily Dickinson, Louise Lab\u00e9, Valentine Penrose, Georges Bataille, H.D., Charles Simic y Bernard No\u00ebl, y la antolog\u00eda de mujeres poetas norteamericanas\u00a0La pasi\u00f3n del exilio<\/em>(2007). Su libro\u00a0Islandia<\/em>\u00a0recibi\u00f3 el premio del PEN American Center en Nueva York al mejor libro de poes\u00eda en traducci\u00f3n del a\u00f1o (2001) y\u00a0Galer\u00eda Fant\u00e1stica<\/em>\u00a0recibi\u00f3 el Premio Internacional de Ensayo de Siglo XXI (M\u00e9xico). Su obra ha sido traducida al ingl\u00e9s, franc\u00e9s, sueco e italiano.<\/p>\n

The ISLA festival <\/a>will kick off with this round table<\/a> where guests Elia Barcel\u00f3, Harry Clifton and Mar\u00eda Negroni will discuss poetry and fantastic literature, its influences and much more with Jean-Philippe Imbert (DCU). This event will be held the 2nd of November at 4pm at our Caf\u00e9 Literario.<\/p>\n

Elia Barcel\u00f3\u00a0(Alicante, Spain, 1957) has published crime, historical, science fiction and fantastic novels for adults, as well as young adult books and essays. In 2007 she received the Gabriel Award, a prize for the most important personalities in the fantastic genre in Spain. Her work has been translated into French, Italian, German, Catalan, English, Greek, Hungarian, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Croatian, Portuguese, Basque, Czech, Russian and Esperanto. Her novels translated into English are:\u00a0Coraz\u00f3n de tango<\/em>\u00a0(2007), translated into English under the nameHeart of Tango<\/em>\u00a0(2010) and\u00a0The Goldsmith\u2019s Secret<\/em>(2011), a translation of\u00a0El secreto del orfebre<\/em>\u00a0(2003).<\/p>\n

Harry Clifton\u00a0(Dublin, 1952) has spent great part of his life outside of Ireland (Nigeria, Far East, Italy\u2026).\u00a0 He documented the time spent in Italy in his prose memoir\u00a0On the Spine of Italy<\/em>. In 2004, he returned to Ireland. His collections of poems include\u00a0The Desert Route: Selected Poems 1973-1988<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Secular Eden: Paris Notebooks 1994-2004<\/em>. He is also the author of a collection of fiction, Berkeley\u2019s Telephone and Other Fictions (2000). He was appointed as the Ireland Chair of Poetry in 2010. His other honors include the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award and two Arts Council Bursaries in Literature. His work has been translated into several European languages.<\/p>\n
