Presenta: Bill Richardson (NUI Galway).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Harry Clifton\u00a0<\/strong>(Dubl\u00edn, 1952) ha vivido una parte importante de su vida fuera de Irlanda (Nigueria, Extremo Oriente, Italia\u2026) De su estancia en Italia public\u00f3 sus memorias en prosa\u00a0<em>On the Spine of Italy<\/em>. En 2004 regres\u00f3 a Irlanda. Entre sus colecciones de poemas se encuentran\u00a0<em>The Desert Route:<\/em>\u00a0<em>Selected Poems 1973-1988<\/em>\u00a0y\u00a0<em>Secular Eden:\u00a0<\/em><em>Paris Notebooks 1994-2004<\/em>. Tambi\u00e9n es autor de una colecci\u00f3n de ficci\u00f3n,\u00a0<em>Berkeley\u2019s Telephone and Other Fictions<\/em>(2000). Clifton fue nombrado Ireland Chair of Poetry en el 2010. Ha recibido tambi\u00e9n el premio de poes\u00eda Patrick Kavanagh y dos premios Arts Council Bursaries de literatura. Sus obras han sido traducidas a varias lenguas europeas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lorna Shaughnessy<\/strong>\u00a0(Belfast, Irlanda del Norte, 1961) es poeta, traductora y profesora de Lengua Espa\u00f1ola en la Universidad Nacional de Irlanda, Galway. Ha publicado dos libros de poemas,\u00a0<em>Torching the Brown River<\/em>\u00a0(2009) y\u00a0<em>Witness Trees<\/em>\u00a0(2011) y dos traducciones de poes\u00eda contempor\u00e1nea mexicana,<em>Mother Tongue: Selected Poems by Pura L\u00f3pez Colom\u00e9<\/em>\u00a0y\u00a0<em>If We Have Lost our Oldest Tales<\/em>, de Mar\u00eda Baranda (2006). Su traducci\u00f3n de\u00a0<em>The Disappearance of Snow<\/em>\u00a0de Manuel Rivas fue publicada en 2012.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Omar P\u00e9rez<\/strong>\u00a0(La Habana, Cuba, 1964) es poeta, ensayista y traductor, adem\u00e1s de periodista, cr\u00edtico de teatro y cine, editor y locutor de radio. Su \u00faltima publicaci\u00f3n es la colecci\u00f3n de ensayos\u00a0<em>El coraz\u00f3n mediterr\u00e1neo<\/em>\u00a0(2011). Como poeta ha publicado\u00a0<em>Algo de lo sagrado<\/em>\u00a0(1996),\u00a0<em>\u00bfO\u00edste hablar del gato de pelea?<\/em>\u00a0(1999),\u00a0<em>Canciones y Letan\u00edas<\/em>\u00a0(2002) y\u00a0<em>Lingua Franca<\/em>\u00a0(2009). En ingl\u00e9s ha publicado\u00a0<em>Something of the Sacred<\/em>\u00a0(2007), traducci\u00f3n de\u00a0<em>Algo de lo sagrado<\/em>, a cargo de Kristin Dykstra y\u00a0<em>Did you hear about the fighting cat?<\/em>\u00a0(2010).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Diego Valverde Villena<\/strong>\u00a0(Lima, Per\u00fa, 1967). Poeta espa\u00f1ol y peruano, de ascendencia boliviana. En 2011 public\u00f3 su libro de poemas\u00a0<em>Un segundo de vacilaci\u00f3n<\/em>. Ha traducido obras de Conan Doyle, Kipling, John Donne, Ezra Pound, Valery Larbaud, Nuno J\u00fadice, E.T.A. Hoffmann y Paul Celan, entre otros. Sus poemas aparecen en numerosas antolog\u00edas y han sido traducidos a varios idiomas, entre ellos al irland\u00e9s. Entre sus principales obras de poes\u00eda se encuentran:\u00a0<em>El dif\u00edcil ejercicio del olvido<\/em>(1997),\u00a0<em>No olvides mi rostro<\/em>\u00a0(2001) y\u00a0<em>El espejo que lleva mi nombre escrito<\/em>\u00a0(2006).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The second event of the<a title=\"ISLA Festival\" href=\"http:\/\/dublin.cervantes.es\/FichasCultura\/Ficha83292_16_2.htm\" target=\"_blank\"> ISLA Festival<\/a> will be an outstanding <a title=\"Poetry reading\" href=\"http:\/\/dublin.cervantes.es\/FichasCultura\/Ficha84352_16_2.htm\" target=\"_blank\">poetry reading<\/a> on November 2nd at 5.15pm at Caf\u00e9 Literario.<\/p>\n<p>These four poets will be reading a selection of some of their best poems in their original language in this poetry reading. Introduced by Bill Richardson (NUI Galway)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Harry Clifton<\/strong>\u00a0(Dublin, 1952) has spent great part of his life outside of Ireland (Nigeria, Far East, Italy\u2026).\u00a0 He documented the time spent in Italy in his prose memoir\u00a0<em>On the Spine of Italy<\/em>. In 2004, he returned to Ireland. His collections of poems include\u00a0<em>The Desert Route: Selected Poems 1973-1988<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Secular Eden: Paris Notebooks 1994-2004<\/em>. He is also the author of a collection of fiction,\u00a0<em>Berkeley\u2019s Telephone and Other Fictions<\/em>\u00a0(2000). He was appointed as the Ireland Chair of Poetry in 2010. His other honors include the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award and two Arts Council Bursaries in Literature. His work has been translated into several European languages.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Omar P\u00e9rez<\/strong>\u00a0(Havana, Cuba, 1964) is a poet, essayist and translator, as well as a journalist, theatre and film critic, editor and radio announcer.
