Es poeta de nacionalidad peruana y espa\u00f1ola. Su vida siempre ha estado unida a la literatura. Entre 2002 y 2004 trabaj\u00f3 en la Secretar\u00eda de Estado de Cultura de Espa\u00f1a. Ha llevado a cabo estudios de especializaci\u00f3n en lengua y literatura en las universidades de Salamanca, Edimburgo, Dubl\u00edn y Wroclaw. Diego Valverde tiene una prol\u00edfica carrera como traductor de obras literarias desde el alem\u00e1n, franc\u00e9s, ingl\u00e9s, italiano y portugu\u00e9s al castellano.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Instituto Cervantes Dublin and NUI Maynooth are delighted to present Spanish-Peruvian author Diego Valverde Villena, who will perform a <a href=\"http:\/\/dublin.cervantes.es\/FichasCultura\/Ficha85437_16_2.htm\" target=\"_blank\">commented reading<\/a> of some of his poems and will discuss about his work, literary career and influcences with Ms Catherine O&#8217;Leary, lecturer of the Spanish Department.<\/p>\n<p>Diego Valverde Villena, born on April 6, 1967, is a Spanish poet of Peruvian origin and Bolivian roots. In 1971, when he was four, his family left Peru for Spain. he also attended courses on language and literature in the University of Salamanca (Scandinavian languages), University of Edinburgh (Modernism), University College Dublin (Irish literature and culture) and the University of Wroclaw (Polish language and literature).
