Modera: Kate Quinn (NUI Galway)<\/p>\n<p>Bernardo Toro, escritor radicado en Francia, naci\u00f3 en Santiago de Chile. En 1983 sali\u00f3 de su pa\u00eds para continuar sus estudios en Par\u00eds, donde obtuvo su m\u00e1ster sobre la obra de Marcel Proust en la Universidad de La Sorbona. Entre 1988 y 1993, dirigi\u00f3 la revista de arte Lugares Extremos. Desde 1999 dirige la revista Rue Saint Ambroise, publicaci\u00f3n dedicada al cuento contempor\u00e1neo.<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente es profesor y traductor literario. Es autor de dos novelas: Contretemps (A Contratiempo) (Les petits matins, 2006) y De fils \u00e0 fils (De hijo a hijo) (Sotck, 2010). Su pr\u00f3xima novela, Qui d&#8217;autre \u00e0 part nous, se publicar\u00e1 en el 2013.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a title=\"Abre nueva ventana \/ Open new window\" href=\"http:\/\/dublin.cervantes.es\/FichasCultura\/Ficha84341_16_2.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Historical memory, national or international conflicts and crime and daily life<\/a> were the topics at this table thanks to literary works by guests Lorenzo Silva, Bernardo Toro, Mar\u00eda Negroni and Niamh O&#8217;Connor. Chaired by Kate Quinn (NUI Galway).<\/p>\n<p>Bernardo Toro (Santiago, Chile) lives in France. He left Chile in 1983 to complete a masters degree at the Sorbonne University of Paris with a dissertation about Marcel Proust\u00b4s work.<\/p>\n<p>From 1988 to 1993 he was editor in chief of the art magazine Lugares Extremos. Since 1999, while working as lecturer and literary translator, he has been editor in chief of the magazine Rue Saint Ambroise, a publication dedicated to contemporary short stories.<\/p>\n<p>He is the author of two novels: Contretemps (2006) and De fils \u00e0 fils (2010).
