Estas lecturas dramatizadas ser\u00e1n acompa\u00f1adas de conferencias que explorar\u00e1n el trasfondo de las obras espa\u00f1olas y de los dramaturgos pertenecientes a la Edad de Oro espa\u00f1ola<span style=\"color:#808080\">\/The International <strong>Read Not Dead<\/strong> series starts looking at the influence of Spanish writers working between 1576 and 1642 by exploring works by some of the greatest Spanish dramatists from that period like <strong>La vida es sue\u00f1o (Life is a Dream) by Pedro Calder\u00f3n de la Barc<\/strong><\/span><strong>a<\/strong>.<span style=\"color:#808080\">These staged readings will be coupled with lectures exploring the background to these Spanish plays and other playwrights of the Spanish Golden Age.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Con la par ticipaci\u00f3n de <strong>Rodrigo Cacho Casal<\/strong>, profesor titular de Literatura y Cultura del Siglo de Oro en la Universidad de Cambridge. Sus temas principales de investigaci\u00f3n son la literatura comparada, la poes\u00eda y la prosa burlesca, el poema heroic\u00f3mico europeo y las obras de Francisco de Quevedo<span style=\"color:#808080\">\/With the attendance of <strong>Rodrigo Cacho Casal<\/strong>, senior Lecturer in Spanish Golden Age culture at Cambridge University.
