Comenzamos la conmemoraci\u00f3n del cuarto centenario del fallecimiento de Cervantes con la presentaci\u00f3n de este volumen, publicado por Book Now, que re\u00fane por primera vez las tres novelas que el autor brit\u00e1nico Robin Chapman escribi\u00f3 inspir\u00e1ndose en el Quijote<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u00abEl diario de la duquesa\u00bb cuenta c\u00f3mo Mar\u00eda Isabel de Echauri, la duquesa de Caparroso, llega a creer que su personaje ha sido mal representado\u00a0en un trabajo de ficci\u00f3n, y va adentr\u00e1ndose\u00a0en uno de los campos favoritos de Cervantes: el di\u00e1logo entre la realidad y la ficci\u00f3n<\/strong>. \u00abLa edad dorada de Sancho\u00bb detalla\u00a0c\u00f3mo Sancho Panza, tras la muerte de Don Quijote, intenta hacer realidad el concepto de existencia que los dos imaginaron<\/strong> en su \u00faltimo viaje a casa. Por otra\u00a0parte, \u00abLa vida de Pasamonte\u00bb desarrolla\u00a0la autobiograf\u00eda de un granuja<\/strong>, comenzada pero dejada a medio hacer cuando Don Quijote lo libera de un grupo de engrilletados.<\/p>\n

Robin Chapman es novelista, guionista y dramaturgo. Est\u00e1 casado con la artista Jill Booty. Su \u00faltimo trabajo, \u00abEl Don Quijote de Shakespeare\u00bb <\/strong>(Book Now, 2011), es una novela dialogada que resucita a Cardenio, una obra perdida de William Shakespeare basada en Don Quijote. La obra se representa en un teatro marginal frente a los esp\u00edritus parlanchines de Cervantes y Shakespeare, que descubren que tienen mucho en com\u00fan.<\/p>\n

El autor brit\u00e1nico se encuentra\u00a0escribiendo \u00abEl joven rojo\u00bb, un retrato literario de J. B. Trend, el primer profesor de espa\u00f1ol en la universidad de Cambridge<\/strong>, amigo a su vez de Lorca y Falla.<\/p>\n

We start the celebrations of the fourth centenary of\u00a0Cervantes\u2019s death with the launch of this volume,\u00a0published by Book Now, which brings together for\u00a0the first time Robin Chapman\u2019s three novels inspired\u00a0by Don Quixote<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Duchess\u2019s Diary tells how Maria\u00a0Isabel de Echauri, Duchess of Caparroso, comes\u00a0to believe that she has been misportrayed in fiction,\u00a0thus approaching one of Cervantes\u2019s favorite themes,\u00a0the dialogue between reality and fiction<\/strong>. Sancho\u2019s\u00a0Golden Age relates how Sancho Panza, after Don\u00a0Quixote\u2019s death, tries to create an ideal pastoral\u00a0existence such as they had envisaged on their final\u00a0journey home<\/strong>. Pasamonte\u2019s Life extends a rogue\u2019s\u00a0auto biography<\/strong> already in progress but left in pawn\u00a0when Don Quixote releases him from a chain-gang.<\/span><\/p>\n

Robin Chapman is a novelist, playwright and screenwriter.\u00a0He is married to the painter Jill Booty. His\u00a0most recent book, Shakespeare\u2019s Don Quixote<\/strong>, Book\u00a0Now 2011, is a novel in dialogue which reconstructs\u00a0Cardenio, a lost Shakespearean play based on Don\u00a0Quixote. He imagines it performed in a fringe theatre\u00a0in front of the talkative spirits of Cervantes and\u00a0Shakespeare. They find they have much in common.\u00a0He is at present working on That Red Young Man,<\/strong>\u00a0a literary portrait of J.B. Trend, the first Professor of\u00a0Spanish at Cambridge University<\/strong> and friend of Lorca\u00a0and Falla.<\/p>\n
