Durante el siglo XVI, la vihuela se convirti\u00f3 en<\/strong> uno de los instrumentos m\u00e1s representativos de la m\u00fasica culta espa\u00f1ola<\/strong>. El padre de Miguel de Cervantes era, al parecer, un gran aficionado<\/strong> a la vihuela. Las referencias a este instrumento son numerosas en la obra del genial escritor.<\/p>\n

El programa re\u00fane una variada y representativa selecci\u00f3n de m\u00fasica para vihuela de del siglo XVI de Luis de Mil\u00e1n, Luis de Narv\u00e1ez, Enr\u00edquez\u00a0de Valderr\u00e1bano, Diego Pisador, Miguel de Fuenllana y Esteban Daza.<\/p>\n

\"Ciclo<\/a><\/p>\n

Alfred Fern\u00e1ndez (Barcelona, 1970) estudi\u00f3 guitarra con Jordi Codina, Manel Gonz\u00e1lez y Fernando
\nRodr\u00edguez, especializ\u00e1ndose luego en instrumentos antiguos de cuerda pulsada: vihuela, guitarra barroca, la\u00fad,\u00a0etc. De formaci\u00f3n autodidacta, ha recibido consejos de prestigiosos maestros como William Waters, Rolf Lislevand, Paul O\u2019dette o John Griffiths<\/strong>. En la actualidad tiene editados tres CDs como solista. Estos trabajos han recibido excelentes cr\u00edticas en revistas\u00a0especializadas como R\u00e9pertoire, Le Monde de la Musique, Gramophone, Goldberg, Scherzo, Ritmo, Lute Society
\nMagazine, etc. Su \u00faltimo CD como solista ha sido premiado con el 10R de R\u00e9pertoire<\/strong> aparte de obtener\u00a0m\u00e1ximas calificaciones en diversas revistas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alfred Fern\u00e1ndez, vihuela and narration<\/em>
\n Music by 16th-century Spanish vihuela composers with Sonnets and Epitaphs by Miguel de Cervantes<\/em><\/p>\n

A precursor of the classical guitar, the vihuela rose to prominence in 16th-century Spain to become one of the most popular classical instruments of its day<\/strong>. It also features conspicuously in the work of the great Spanish Golden Age writer, Miguel de Cervantes, whose father is reported to have been an avid fan of the instrument<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes, the eminent vihuelist, Alfredo Fern\u00e1ndez, will perform a choice selection of 16th-century Spanish vihuela music by its greatest composers, Luis de Mil\u00e1n, Luis de Narv\u00e1ez, Enr\u00edquez de Valderr\u00e1bano, Diego Pisador, Miguel de Fuenllana, and Esteban Daza, interspersed with selected readings from Cervantes\u2019 Sonnets and Epitaphs.<\/p>\n

Alfred Fern\u00e1ndez studied guitar with Jordi Codina, Manuel Gonz\u00e1lez and Fernando Rodr\u00edguez, before undertaking specialist training in early plucked strings, including vihuela, baroque guitar and lute, with pre-eminent mentors such as William Waters, Rolf Lislevand, Paul O\u2019dette and John Griffiths<\/strong>. He has released three solo albums to great critical acclaim from the classical music press<\/strong>, including Le Monde de la Musique, Gramophone, Goldberg, Scherzo, Ritmo and Lute Society Magazine and R\u00e9pertoire.<\/p>\n
