Hoy proyectamos la segunda película del ciclo de cine que hemos llamado Espacio Femenino. Tres días con la familia fue el debut cinematográfico de su directora Mar Coll y con la que ganó algunos premios; la película cuenta con unas imágenes realmente buenas y unos personajes bien desarrollados. En catalán con subtítulos en castellano.

Destacamos el trabajo de Nausicaa Bonnín y  Eduard Fernández, como actores principales. En su día ambos recibieron premios como mejor actor y actriz en el Festival de Málaga (2009).

Después de haber pasado algún tiempo en el extranjero, Léa debe regresar inmediatamente a Gerona, donde su abuelo paterno acaba de fallecer. La muerte del patriarca de la familia será la excusa para hacer que sus descendientes tengan que convivir unos días. Y es aquí donde saldrán prejuicios, actitudes y problemas que reflejan la vida real de los miembros de esta familia burguesa conservadora.

We are screening today the second film within the cinema season we have called Femenine Perspective. Three Days With The Family was the first film by Mar Coll and won her some awards. The film has got a very good visuals and characters well developed. In Catalan languague with subtitles in English.

We would like to highlight the interpretation of the main actors such as Nausicaa Bonnín and  Eduard Fernández, both of them won Best Actor and Best Actress at the Festival de Málaga (2009).

After spending some time abroad, Léa has to return to Gerona, where her paternal grandfather has just passed away. The death of the patriarch of the family will become the perfect excuse for his descendent to live together for some days.
And here it is where prejudices, attitudes and problems will sprout showing the real life of the members of this middle-class and conservative family.

Nos gustaría invitaros a una película que pasamos esta semana en el Instituto Cervantes de Mánchester. Es una película especial y es además una auténtica historia de amor, de esas que no se suelen llevar ya a la pantalla.

Un  guión bueno, inteligente y bien desarrollado; una interpretación brillante con Lili Taylor y  Andrew McCarthy en sus papeles protagonistas. Yo creo que se podría destacar el papel de Lili Taylor (Ann), resulta convincente y conmovedora.

Ann, una dependienta de una tienda de fotografía, se ha trasladado a una ciudad que le es ajena para estar cerca de Bob-su novio-. Pero un día él la llama para cortar su relación con ella y Ann intenta suicidarse. Al salir del hospital encuentra apoyo gracias al teléfono de la esperanza, donde trabaja como voluntario Don. Éste está acostumbrado a escuchar los problemas de los demás, como remedo al olvido de los suyos propios. Se produce así un cruce de vidas donde ambos buscan lo mismo: el amor, pero  habrá un elemento que falta, esas cosas que nunca se dicen...

We would like to invite you to a cinema screening here at Instituto Cervantes this Thursday. A very special and what we could properly call a real film of love. One of those that are difficult to see nowdays at the movies.

A good and intelligent script with a wonderful interpretation by the two main characters Lili Taylor and  Andrew McCarthy. I would like to highlight on Tyler´s role as she is so convincing and moving.

Ann is a young woman who leads a quiet life selling photographic equipment in a Midwest town. She receives a call from her boyfriend who simply tells her he wants to end their relationship. Ann tries to commit suicide and when she leaves the hospital she has been treated, she will ring a telephone number she has been given, an Agony´s Aunt telephone, where she will find Don. 

Don  is used to listen to other people´s problems in order to forget his own ones. Their lives will then cross, both looking for the same: Love, but there will be something missing, those things that are never told….

 Too good to be missed!

Ciclo de cine

El Instituto Cervantes de Mánchester ofrecerá durante el próximo mes de mayo la oportunidad de disfrutar del cine español más actual en Manchester. Las películas Mientras duermes, No habrá paz para los malvados, No tengas miedo, Primos y Arriya son los cinco largometrajes que componen el ciclo de cine Contemporáneos y que serán proyectados en el Instituto Cervantes de esta ciudad.

Cinco películas y cinco géneros cinematográficos diferentes, desde la comedia al cine policíaco pasando por el drama con protagonistas siempre fácilmente reconocibles para el espectador.

Si eres profesor de español, estás aprendiendo español o te gustaría simplemente saber más sobre cine español, el Instituto Cervantes presenta una serie de talleres que aunarán lenguaje y cine.

Habrá 5 sesiones de 2 horas duración incluyendo un descanso en el que se ofrecerá un tentempié. Durante las sesiones se profundizará en cómo comprender y utilizar las referencias culturales reflejadas en el cine de habla hispana.

Al completar el curso los candidatos recibirán un certificado así como un año de socio en la biblioteca del Instituto Cervantes que ofrece muchísimas ventajas, como descuentos en Cornerhouse para ver películas de habla hispana, en conciertos en el Band on the Wall, en el restaurante La Tasca de Deansgate ¡y mucho más!

Primera sesión:

El baño del Papa (Cesar Charlone y Enrique Fernández, 2007)

Contenido: Comprender una película analizando referencias externas como críticas y marketing.

Temas: Elementos sociales reflejados en la película

Segunda sesion:

Amorosa Soledad (Carranza y Galardi, 2008)

Contenido: Análisis de las actividades que pueden llevarse a cabo después de ver la película.

Temas: Relaciones familiars y personales

Tercera session:

El espinazo del Diablo (Guillemo del Toro, 2001)

Conenido: Análisis de la relación entre las películas y los otros medios (literatura, cómics y teatro)

Temas: Acontecimientos históricos reflejados en la película y el uso del simbolismo y el misterio/horror.

Cuarta sesión:

La Zona (Rodrigo Plá, 2007)

Contenido: Cómo preparar actividades para utilizar después de ver la película

Temas: División social, ley y ciudadanía

Quinta sesion:

Medianeras (Gustavo Taretto, 2011)

Contenido: Trabajar sobre actividades relacionadas con e guión de la película.

Temas: La ciudad como el personaje principal y las interacciones sociales de la era digital.

If you are a language teacher, thinking of teaching, learning Spanish or would simply like to know more about Spanish cinema, the Instituto Cervantes is pleased to offer a series of workshops bringing film and language together.

 There will be 5 sessions of 2 hour workshops, which include a break with refreshments. Throughout the sessions, we will reveal tips on how to use and understand cultural references that are reflected in Spanish speaking films.
