¡Hola!

Este año hemos organizado por primera vez un taller de traducción literaria en el Instituto Cervantes de Mánchester con un gran éxito, lo que nos ha llevado a programar un segundo también en esta ciudad y por primera vez en nuestro instituto de Leeds.

En 2014 vamos a programar más de estos talleres y cuyas fechas de comienzo anunciaremos  a través de nuestra página web. La persona encargada de los mismos será el traductor y profesor Rob Rix, y los temas tratados en éstos amplios, desde como traducir el sentido del humor o las metáforas hasta las aportaciones o sugerencias que vosotros queráis dar.

This year and for the first time, we have programmed a literary translation workshop in our I Cervantes in Manchester with a big success, so it led us to  programme a second one in this city, and also and for the first time in our branch in Leeds

In 2014, we are programming more of these and we will let you know the starting dates through our webpage . Professor and Translator Rob Rix will be the person leading these workshops and the sessions will go from how to translate sense of humor, metaphors to your own experiences and approaches.

Tú y yo es una comedia agridulce que nos ofrece  una ventana-teñida de rosa- al mundo de dos hermanas ya mayores. La acción transcurre entre el pasado y presente, por aquí y  por allá -en el extranjero- y las memorias de un mundo más sencillo.

Las hermanas comparten la intimidad de toda una vida juntas, cuidándose con cariño y enfadándose con vehemencia. Tras una vida juntas se enfrentan a su año final, solas y aisladas.

Ciclo de cine

El Instituto Cervantes de Mánchester ofrecerá durante el próximo mes de mayo la oportunidad de disfrutar del cine español más actual en Manchester. Las películas Mientras duermes, No habrá paz para los malvados, No tengas miedo, Primos y Arriya son los cinco largometrajes que componen el ciclo de cine Contemporáneos y que serán proyectados en el Instituto Cervantes de esta ciudad.

Cinco películas y cinco géneros cinematográficos diferentes, desde la comedia al cine policíaco pasando por el drama con protagonistas siempre fácilmente reconocibles para el espectador.

Blanquillo es un pescador de treinta años de edad que vive una monótona vida junto a su madre en un pequeño pueblo de la costa de Ecuador. Una mañana, un cargamento de cocaína llega arrastrado por la marea, gracias a la recompensa obtenida, Blanquillo viaja a la ciudad a conocer a su verdadero padre. Este viaje lo emprende junto a Lorna, una guapa mujer colombiana que huye novio delincuente.

Miércoles 13 de marzo a las 18:30 y sábado 16 de marzo a las 20:40 en Cornerhouse

Violeta se fue a los cielos narra la fascinante vida de Violeta Parra (1917-67) compositora, escritora de canciones, artista visual, y madre del Nuevo Movimiento de la Canción Chilena. Andrés Wood traza la vida de Parra desde sus humildes comienzos en la Chile más rural hasta convertirse en apasionada icono cultural, siempre preocupada por preservar su cultura tradicional. Banda sonora que utiliza las canciones más influyentes de Parra.

Violeta se fue a los cielos ganó el Premio del Jurado de Sundance Festival 2012.

Violeta Se Fue a los Cielos recounts the fascinating life of Violeta Parra (1917-67), Chilean composer, songwriter, folklorist, visual artist, and mother of the New Chilean Song Movement. Andrés Wood traces Parra’s story from her humble beginnings in rural Chile to her life as a cultural icon passionate about preserving traditional culture. The film features a rich soundtrack of Parra’s influential songs.

Violeta se fue a los cielos won the World Cinema Jury Prize at Sundance in 2012.
