La Universidad Complutense de Madrid inici\u00f3 en 1988 un proyecto nuevo para tender puentes entre la ciencia, la cultura, la pol\u00edtica y la sociedad espa\u00f1ola. Desde aquella primera edici\u00f3n los Cursos de Verano se han consolidado como una muestra anual de los nuevos saberes y de sus protagonistas y un foro de intercambio intelectual basado en la pluralidad y en la difusi\u00f3n de los avances producidos en todas las \u00e1reas cient\u00edficas, human\u00edsticas y art\u00edsticas.<\/p>\n

La Universidad satisface as\u00ed inquietudes e intereses que no siempre pueden ser tratados en sus aulas durante el curso acad\u00e9mico. En los Cursos de Verano Complutense, en un entorno hist\u00f3rico de gran belleza, los conferenciantes, especialistas del m\u00e1ximo nivel, son m\u00e1s accesibles y los alumnos pueden departir dentro y fuera de las clases con destacadas personalidades. Los ponentes encuentran aqu\u00ed una excelente oportunidad para el intercambio de experiencias que enriquecen su actividad investigadora y profesional ampliando la red de contactos acad\u00e9micos.<\/p>\n

In 1988 the Complutense University decided to embark on a new endeavour to become a meeting point for Science, Culture, Politics and Spanish society. Hence, the beginning of the Summer Courses, an annual showcase of new knowledge and its protagonists, an intellectual exchange with a focus on plurality and the dissemination of the most recent advances in all areas of the sciences, humanities and the arts.<\/span><\/p>\n

The University can thus satisfy people\u2019s curiosity and delve into areas of interest that cannot always be addressed during the regular school year. The Summer Courses are held at a historic site of great beauty and the lecturers, all specialists in their field, are more accessible. Students have the opportunity to converse with distinguished figures both inside and outside of the classroom and make contact with other professionals and people with the same interests. The speakers themselves also have an excellent chance to exchange experiences and enrich their own research and professional activities.<\/span><\/p>\n
