Seg\u00fan un art\u00edculo publicado en Lectura Lab<\/a>, el impacto de las bibliotecas sobre la sociedad, a largo plazo, va mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del aspecto econ\u00f3mico, pues se han realizado diversos estudios sobre el impacto que \u00e9stas proporcionan. Sin embargo, son unos datos a corto plazo, basados en cifras puramente econ\u00f3micas, mientras que la labor de \u00e9stas en otros aspectos, como sociales o culturales, pueden llegar a ser m\u00e1s importantes con el tiempo.<\/p>\n

En cuanto al impacto econ\u00f3mico, Art Council England<\/a> sostiene, entre otros aspectos, que las bibliotecas generan en su entorno \u00a0un gasto en diferentes sectores como por ejemplo en contratar m\u00e1s personal o en los pedidos a las editoriales. Todo esto por debido al incremento de usuarios, con necesidades espec\u00edficas, pero adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n estos cuando van a la biblioteca pueden llegar a hacer uso de cafeter\u00edas, taxis, tiendas, lo que ser\u00eda tambi\u00e9n un valor a\u00f1adido para estos sectores.<\/p>\n

Por otro lado, est\u00e1 el impacto social, The bookseller<\/a>\u00a0y Art Council England<\/a> recogen la contribuci\u00f3n de \u00e9stas en las diferentes comunidades \u00a0ya que juegan un papel importante en la formaci\u00f3n, educaci\u00f3n, mantenimiento f\u00edsico y mental de los usuarios, pues la socializaci\u00f3n es importante en ciudades d\u00f3nde existe la multiculturalidad.<\/p>\n
