As with the rest of the library collection, our film holdings are open to the public for anyone that is interested in research, or just interested in spending a nice afternoon watching a film in our quiet and welcoming facility. <a href=\"http:\/\/nyork.cervantes.es\/en\/membership_spanish\/membership_spanish.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Membership<\/a> is available for those that wish to borrow films.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More than 7.000 Spanish and Latin American movies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our film collection is made up of DVDs and VHS cassettes in both the NTSC and PAL formats. Included in our holdings are several Latin American films on VHS that are unique to our library and in many cases the only copies available in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t have a PAL DVD or VHS player? Our library has several viewing terminals equipped with multisystem DVD and VHS decks.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A selection of television series.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have a smaller collection of popular TV series from Spain, these are mostly in the PAL format and range from comedies to dramas.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Documentaries and interviews with Spanish-speaking authors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While not as comprehensive as our feature film collection, our curated selection of documentaries represents a diverse subject area.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Books, magazines and reference works covering the history of cinema in Spain and Latin America.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Located in our film studies section, we have hundreds of books about the history of cinema throughout Latin America and Spain, as well as books about the influence of cinema on popular culture and literature.
