Con motivo del D\u00eda Internacional del Libro<\/a>, \u00a05 alumnos de Espa\u00f1ol como lengua materna de la escuela UNIS (United Nations International School), prepararon una exposici\u00f3n de reflexiones sobre la siguiente frase de Jorge Luis Borges:<\/p>\n

De los diversos instrumentos del hombre, el m\u00e1s asombroso es, sin duda, el libro. Los dem\u00e1s son extensiones de su cuerpo. El microscopio, el telescopio, son extensiones de su vista; el tel\u00e9fono es extensi\u00f3n de la voz; luego tenemos el arado y la espada, extensiones de su brazo. Pero el libro es otra cosa: el libro es una extensi\u00f3n de la memoria y de la imaginaci\u00f3n.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Los alumnos del grupo J4 de la \u00a0Sta. Alcaraz, fueron dirigidos por la artista Regina\u00a0Baumhauer<\/a>. Seg\u00fan la Sra. Baumhauer:<\/p>\n

El objetivo de nuestro proyecto es: poner nuestros alumnos en contacto con la excepcional y maravillosa obra de Jorge Luis Borges de una manera creativa y l\u00fadica.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

La obra de los alumnos estar\u00e1 expuesta en la biblioteca hasta el fin de mayo.<\/p>\n

In honor of<\/span> World Book Day<\/a>, 5 Spanish as a Mother Tongue students from UNIS (United Nations International School) prepared an exhibition of reflections on the following phrase by Jorge Luis Borges:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Out of the different instruments that man has produced, the most outstanding is, without doubt, the book. The others are mere extensions of his body. The microscope and the telescope are extensions of man’s sight; the telephone is an extension of the voice; then we have the plow and sword – the extension of his arm. And yet, the book is another thing: the book is an extension of man’s memory and imagination.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The students from Ms. Alacaraz’ J4 class, were guided by the artist<\/span>\u00a0Regina\u00a0Baumhauer<\/a>. According to Ms. Baumhauer:<\/span><\/p>\n

The goal of our project is: to get our students in touch with the outstanding and wonderful work of Jorge Luis Borges in a creative and playful way.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u00a0The students’ work will be on display in the library until the end of May.
