El pasado 13 de junio celebramos en el Instituto Cervantes de Nueva York el XXIII Simposio de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil. En esta edici\u00f3n nuestro invitado de honor fue el escritor C\u00e9sar Mallorqu\u00ed<\/b>, Premio Nacional de Literatura Juvenil por La isla de Bowen, \u00a0que <\/i>nos deleit\u00f3 con dos conferencias tituladas Elogio de la mala literatura<\/i> y En la mente del escritor. <\/i>El aforo estaba completo y aprendimos much\u00edsimo; \u00a0tambi\u00e9n <\/i>contamos con la presencia del profesor\u00a0 de espa\u00f1ol del ICNY Enrique Garc\u00eda que imparti\u00f3 una conferencia sobre herramientas en l\u00ednea que ofrece el Instituto Cervantes \u00a0para profesores y estudiantes de espa\u00f1ol.<\/p>\n

Un a\u00f1o m\u00e1s deseamos dar las gracias a las instituciones que hacen posible que se celebre todos los a\u00f1os este evento: Agregadur\u00eda de Educaci\u00f3n del Consulado de Espa\u00f1a NY; Office of Bilingual Education and Foreign Language Studies. \u00a0On June 13th we celebrated the XXIII Symposium on Children’s and Young Adult Literature at the Instituto Cervantes New York. Our guest of honor was the writer C\u00e9sar Mallorqu\u00ed<\/strong>, recipient of the National Youth Literature Prize for La isla de Bowen<\/em>, who delighted us with two lectures titled In Praise of bad literature<\/em> and In the mind of writing<\/em>. The event was filled to capacity, and all our attendees came away with great lessons. We also enjoyed the presence of ICNY Spanish teacher Enrique Garcia, who gave a lecture on online tools offered by the IC for teachers and students of Spanish.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once again we wish to thank the institutions that make it possible to hold this event every year: The Education Attach\u00e9 from the Consulate of Spain in NY; the Office of Bilingual Education and Foreign Language Studies. New York State Department of Education; Office of English Language Learners and the New York City Department of Education.<\/span><\/p>\n
