Moleiro Editor<\/a>. El pergamino &#8211;que contiene siete cantigas de amigo, lo que hoy llamar\u00edamos canciones de amor, del enigm\u00e1tico trovador del s. XIII Martin Codax y cuyo original constituye un tesoro singular de las letras gallegas y patrimonio universal de la cultura espa\u00f1ola&#8211; es propiedad de la Morgan Library &amp; Museum\u00a0de Nueva York. A trav\u00e9s de la donaci\u00f3n de este casi-original, el pergamino\u00a0queda a disposici\u00f3n de un amplio n\u00famero de personas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">La donaci\u00f3n se produce con motivo del\u00a0<em>Vindel<\/em>\u00a0que sale por primera vez de la Morgan Library\u00a0 para ser expuesto en el Museo del Mar de\u00a0Galicia, en Vigo, hasta el 4 de marzo de 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Los interesados tendr\u00e1n a su alcance en nuestra biblioteca, junto al casi-original de la obra, el estudio monogr\u00e1fico en edici\u00f3n triling\u00fce castellano-gallego-ingl\u00e9s, ilustrado en color, realizado por especialistas tan reputados como Mari\u00f1a Arbor, de la Universidad de Santiago, coordinadora del estudio; Antonio Calvia, de la Fondazione Ezio Franceschini (Florencia);\u00a0\u00a0Antonio Ciaralli, de la Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Perugia;\u00a0\u00a0Rip Cohen, de la Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore) y Simone Marcenaro, de la Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Milano. El prefacio es obra del medievalista Harvey L. Sharrer, profesor em\u00e9rito de la Universidad de California en Santa B\u00e1rbara. La edici\u00f3n incluye un CD en el que la soprano Speranza Cerullo interpreta las\u00a0<em>Cantigas de Martin Codax<\/em>\u00a0tal y como se compusieron.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">El pergamino, escrito en el \u00faltimo cuarto del s. XIII, fue descubierto a principios del s. XX por el librero y bibli\u00f3filo <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pedro_Vindel\" target=\"_blank\">Pedro Vindel<\/a> en las guardas de un ejemplar del ciceroniano\u00a0<i>De officiis<\/i>\u00a0<i>(<i>Sobre los deberes<\/i>, <\/i>o<i>\u00a0<i>De oficios<\/i>)<\/i>: una pieza de 452 x 336 mm que hoy sabemos fue elaborada a diez manos en cuatro columnas. \u201cDos copistas escribieron las letras de las cantigas, dos rubricadores pusieron las may\u00fasculas, coloreadas, y trazaron los pentagramas. Luego, un m\u00fasico reprodujo las notas musicales\u201d, revela la profesora Arbor.\u00a0<\/span>Vindel dio noticia de su hallazgo en 1914 en la revista\u00a0<i>Arte Espa\u00f1ol<\/i>\u00a0y, movido por su af\u00e1n divulgador y consciente del valor del descubrimiento, ofreci\u00f3 un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s una edici\u00f3n facs\u00edmil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Tras una azarosa peripecia, trufada con una temida desaparici\u00f3n, el tesoro documental fue subastado en 1977 en Londres, donde lo adquiri\u00f3\u00a0la Morgan Library neoyorquina, cuyo jefe de Manuscritos Medievales,\u00a0\u00a0Roger S. Wieck, subraya que \u201cs\u00f3lo\u00a0hay dos textos de cantigas manuscritas del siglo XIII que han sobrevivido con su m\u00fasica\u201d. El otro, el <em>Pergamino Sharrer<\/em>, descubierto en 1990 por el autor del prefacio de esta edici\u00f3n del <em>Vindel<\/em> ya disponible en la biblioteca del Instituto Cervantes de Nueva York, perdi\u00f3 pr\u00e1cticamente toda su notaci\u00f3n musical en una catastr\u00f3fica restauraci\u00f3n, por lo que los investigadores s\u00f3lo pueden trabajar sobre \u00e9l a partir de fotograf\u00edas anteriores. Wieck,\u00a0conservador de Manuscritos<br \/>\nMedievales del Morgan, del minuto 14:44\u00a0al 19:42.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">The collections of the Jorge Luis Borges Library of the <a href=\"http:\/\/nyork.cervantes.es\/en\/default.shtm\" target=\"_blank\">Instituto Cervantes\u00a0in New York<\/a>\u00a0have been enriched by the donation of a deluxe facsimile edition of the manuscript known as the <em>Pergamino Vindel<\/em>\u00a0published by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.moleiro.com\/es\/miscelanea\/pergamino-vindel.html\" target=\"_blank\">M. Moleiro Editor<\/a>.\u00a0The parchment contains seven \u00abcantigas de amigo\u00bb, what today we would call songs of love, by the enigmatic\u00a0 13th century troubadour Martin Codax. The original document, a unique treasure of the Galician letters and part of the universal patrimony of Spanish culture, is owned by the Morgan Library &amp; Museum in New York and through this donation is available to a wider public.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">The donation of the facsimile takes place at the same time as the first loan of this valuable manuscript. It travels with great security and under the supervision of a conservator of the Morgan Library to the Museum of the Sea of Galicia in the city of Vigo where it will be exhibited until March 4, 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Those interested will have at their disposal in our library, along with the almost original of the work, the monographic study in trilingual Spanish-Galician-English edition, illustrated in color, made by specialists as reputed as Mari\u00f1a Arbor, from the University of Santiago, coordinator of the study; Antonio Calvia, of the Fondazione Ezio Franceschini (Florence); Antonio Ciaralli, of the Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Perugia; Rip Cohen, from Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore) and Simone Marcenaro, from the Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Milano. The preface is the work of the medievalist Harvey L. Sharrer, professor emeritus of the University of California at Santa Barbara. The edition includes a CD in which the soprano Speranza Cerullo interprets the <em>Cantigas de Martin Codax<\/em> as they were composed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">The parchment, written in the last quarter of the 13th century, was discovered in the early 20th century by the bookseller and bibliophile <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pedro_Vindel\" target=\"_blank\">Pedro Vindel<\/a> in the binding of a copy of the Ciceronian <em>Of officiis<\/em> (<em>On Duties<\/em> or <em>On Obligations<\/em>): one piece, 452 x 336 mm, that we know today was elaborated by ten hands in four columns. \u00abTwo copyists wrote the lyrics of the cantigas, two initiators placed the capital letters, colored, and traced the pentagrams. Then a musician\u00a0transcribed the musical notes,\u201d says Professor Arbor. Vindel reported on his discovery in 1914 in the magazine <em>Arte Espa\u00f1ol<\/em> and, motivated by his zeal for dissemination and aware of the value of the discovery, offered a facsimile edition a year later.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">The documentary treasure was auctioned in 1977 in London, where it was bought by the Morgan Library of New York. Roger S. Wieck, curator of Medieval Manuscripts, emphasizes that \u00abthere are only two texts of handwritten canticles of the 13th century that have survived with their music.\u201d The other one, the <em>Pergamino Sharrer<\/em>, which was discovered in 1990 by the author of the preface to this edition, lost practically all its musical notation in a catastrophic restoration, and for that reason researchers can only work on it from previous photographs.
