{"id":1286,"date":"2013-02-22T09:11:04","date_gmt":"2013-02-21T23:11:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.cervantes.es\/sidney\/?p=1286"},"modified":"2013-02-22T09:11:04","modified_gmt":"2013-02-21T23:11:04","slug":"biblioteca-virtual-prensa-historica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cervantes.es\/sidney\/2013\/02\/22\/biblioteca-virtual-prensa-historica\/","title":{"rendered":"Biblioteca Virtual de Prensa Hist\u00f3rica | Virtual Library of Historical Newspapers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>E<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.cervantes.es\/sidney\/files\/2013\/02\/BIBLIOTECA-VIRTUAL-PRENSA.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1287\" style=\"margin: 10px\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.cervantes.es\/sidney\/files\/2013\/02\/BIBLIOTECA-VIRTUAL-PRENSA.gif\" alt=\"Biblioteca Virtual de prensa\" width=\"205\" height=\"205\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.cervantes.es\/sidney\/files\/2013\/02\/BIBLIOTECA-VIRTUAL-PRENSA.gif 205w, https:\/\/blogs.cervantes.es\/sidney\/files\/2013\/02\/BIBLIOTECA-VIRTUAL-PRENSA-150x150.gif 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 205px) 100vw, 205px\" \/><\/a>ste portal es el resultado de un proceso de digitalizaci\u00f3n cooperativa del <strong>Ministerio de Cultura<\/strong>, las <strong>Comunidades Aut\u00f3nomas<\/strong> y otras instituciones de la memoria para preservar y hacer accesibles la <strong>Prensa Hist\u00f3rica<\/strong> publicada en <strong>Espa\u00f1a<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Esta nueva versi\u00f3n de la BVPH incorpora diversas novedades, entre ellas una importante y\u00a0nueva funcionalidad\u00a0que permite buscar por cualquier palabra de cualquier p\u00e1gina de cualquier peri\u00f3dico digitalizado.<\/p>\n<p>La soluci\u00f3n, que deb\u00eda garantizar el intercambio de informaci\u00f3n entre instituciones de todo el mundo, la ha proporcionado ALTO (Analyzed Layout Text Object) que se utiliza en grandes proyectos de reconocimiento \u00f3ptico de caracteres (OCR) en prensa digitalizada, tanto de Europa como del resto del mundo y, muy especialmente, en Estados Unidos y <strong>Australia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399\">The <a title=\"Electronic resources\" href=\"http:\/\/sidney.cervantes.es\/en\/library_spanish\/online_resources\/electronic_resources.htm#lib\" target=\"_blank\">Virtual Library of Historical Newspapers<\/a> is the result of a process of cooperative digitizing by the <strong>Ministry of Culture<\/strong> and the <strong>Autonomous Regions<\/strong> and other memory institutions, whereby the intention is not only to preserve, but also to offer access to bibliographic materials that are denoted for being unique copies and, therefore, not easily accessible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399\">This new version of the <strong>Virtual Library of Historical Press<\/strong> (Biblioteca Virtual de Prensa Hist\u00f3rica) has an important new function: the ability to search for any word on any page of any digital newspaper.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399\">This new function was omitted at the start of the project so that optical character recognition could be completely assured without having to use a data processing solution that would be excessively dependent on just one brand or commercial product that would subsequently hinder information exchange, which is essential to a project such as this one, which is being carried out in cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and the Autonomous Communities, as well as a growing number of memory institutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399\">The solution was provided by ALTO (Analyzed Layout Text Object), which has been used in large-scale optical character recognition projects and press digitisation projects in Europe, the rest of the world and especially the United States and <strong>Australia<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Este portal es el resultado de un proceso de digitalizaci\u00f3n cooperativa del Ministerio de Cultura, las Comunidades Aut\u00f3nomas y otras instituciones de la memoria para preservar y hacer accesibles la Prensa Hist\u00f3rica publicada en Espa\u00f1a.
