Treinta años de oficio y diez discos en el mercado avalan a este músico creativo y diferente a todos los de su generación. Compositor, guitarrista, arreglista y cantante, músico de frontera, Ruibal es un buscador de aromas, un perseguidor de la fábula y el ensueño, un explorador de la belleza. Un sanador a través del extasis.

Su voz transita con libertad y desahogo por las sonoridades del flamenco, la música del Magreb, de India y del Caribe, en un ir y venir constante armonioso que nos invita a creer en la fusión de las músicas y de las sangres. Sus composiciones están meticulosamente entretejidas con el rock de la vieja escuela, los cantes de ida y vuelta, la poesía del Veintisiete y el compromiso del jazz.

En su fértil recorrido se ha visto acompañazo por los más distinguidos artistas. Con Paco de Lucía y Joan Valent compuso la música de la Carmen de Sara Baras. También puso letra a la música de Erik Satie y melodía a poemas de Lorca y Alberti, además de ser finalista al Goya a la Mejor Canción por Atunes en el Paraíso. Ha compuesto para artistas como Ana Belén, Javier Krahe o Martirio, y ha compartido escenario con Pablo Milanés, Joaquín Sabina, Carlos Cano y Carmen París, entre muchos otros.

Thirty years in the business have proven this creative musician different from all others from his culture and generation. Composer, arranger, guitarist and singer. Self-taught and unorthodox. A musician on the frontiers. This and endless more definitions have been used to define this creative mind, unclassifiable because of the supremely personal nature of his artistic work. Always letting himself get involved with and fascinated by flamenco music, but never allowing himself to be mistaken for something he wasn’t: a flamenco artist. Not for lack of enthusiasm but out of deep respect for this art. However, he has a direct and significant influence on the new flamenco music as an authentic innovator of musical and poetic language.Music and text are both cultivated with the same rigor and care that characterize all aspects of his work. Precise in his arrangements, powerful and personal on the guitar. Not only does he express himself splendidly solo, but when he decides his work needs fuller body and consistency he surrounds himself with musicians of the most creative and generous persuasion.His vocal qualities allow him to move freely and without inhibition through the sonorous terrain of flamenco, Magreb, Indian and Caribbean styles in a constant, harmonious flow which invites us to believe firmly that the fusion of musical styles and peoples will bring us to a new place of enlightenment, a new planet still being formed.
