El mes pasado recibimos la visita de Antonio Álvarez Cañibano, Director del Centro de Documentación de Musica y Danza del INAEM- Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte de España- y de María José González Rigot.

Desde aquí deseamos agradecerles la importante donación que hicieron a nuestra biblioteca, todos los títulos ya están disponibles para que nuestros usuarios puedan consultarlos. Gracias!

Diálogo de guitarras españolas con Pedro Navarro y Ramón Jarque, en el que se interpretarán piezas de referencia de Paco de Lucía, como Entre Dos Aguas y Plazuela, así como composiciones de su etapa inicial, como Spain y Tico-Tico, repertorio que se ve completado por obras propias de Pedro Navarro de corte flamenco, y una pieza inédita en homenaje al maestro de Algeciras.

 Spanish guitarists Pedro Navarro and Ramon Jarque, will interpret Paco de Lucía’s most popular works, Between Two Waters & Plazuela, as well as very early compositions such as Spain & Tico-Tico. The evening will include Pedro Navarro’s own works, as well as new material dedicated to the maestro from Algeciras.

La música es un reflejo cultural y social con un enorme poder. Esta semana es la protagonista de nuestra agenda cultural los días 9, 10 y 11 de diciembre.

“New York, un estado: múltiples naciones” es el título del concierto que el lunes 9 de diciembre tuvo lugar en el Instituto Cervantes de New York y que inauguró este ciclo musical.

A través de la música de cámara, éste concierto nos transmitió la gran diversidad y multiculturalidad que caracteriza a la ciudad de Nueva York.

El martes 10 de diciembre el grupo español Cre.Art Project nos presentó su espectáculo “París”  trasladándonos con su música a la época del Impresionismo.

Hoy miércoles 11 de diciembre, estarán con nosotros New Vintage Baroque quienes interpretarán  “Las hazañas de Don Quijote,” considerado como el mejor libro de todos los tiempos.

Os esperamos a las 7pm en el Instituto Cervantes. Puedes comprar la entrada hasta las 3pm del día de la actuación aquí o en nuestro auditorio (sólo en efectivo) de 5pm a 7pm. El precio es $15.00 para público en general y $12.00 para socios del Instituto Cervantes.

Music is a cultural and social reflection with an enormous power, and this week has been the highlight of our programming for December 9^th, 10^th and 11^th.

“New York, one state many nations” was the title of the concert that took place on Monday December 9^th at Instituto Cervantes New York and the one that opened this musical session. Through chamber music this concert conveyed the diversity and the “cultural melting pot” that has shaped New York’s cultural landscape.

On Tuesday, December 10^th  the Spanish group Cre. Art Project presented their performance “Paris” a production that indulges in how the city of Paris and its artists inspired the age of impressionism.

Today, Wednesday, December 11^th, New Vintage Baroque will be with us performing “The Greatest Hits and Exploits of Don Quixote.” Heralded as the “Greatest Book of All Time,” by the Nobel Institute.

We are looking forward to seeing you today, at 7:00pm at Instituto Cervantes. You can buy the tickets here until 3:00 pm of the performance day. You can also buy them (cash only) from 5 pm to 7pm at the auditorium of Instituto Cervantes. The ticket price is $15 and $12  for ICNY members.
