Coloquio en el marco del ciclo Cervantes, 400 Años con Álvaro Enrigue, Edith Grossman, Natasha Wimmer y William Egginton.
Don Quijote,un personaje cambió definitivamente la literatura propuso una nueva cosmovisión que llegó a impregnar el arte, la política y la ciencia de tal forma que hoy el mundo sería inexplicable sin tener en cuenta su aportación.
El profesor William Egginton en su obra «The Man Who Invented Fiction: How Cervantes Ushered in the Modern World»explora la vida de Cervantes y el mundo en el que vivió, examinando las formas en que su escritura cambió fundamentalmente la literatura y cómo proporcionó una manera única de ver el mundo. William Egginton, los traductores Edith Grossman y Natasha Wimmer, y el autor Álvaro Enrigue, explorarán el impacto de Cervantes no sólo en la ficción, sino en la sociedad tal como la conocemos.

In his bestseller «The Man Who Invented Fiction: How Cervantes Ushered in the Modern World», Professor William Egginton explores Cervantes’s life and the world he lived in, examining the ways his writing fundamentally changed literature, and how it provided a unique way of viewing the world. William Egginton, translators Edith Grossman and Natasha Wimmer, and author Álvaro Enrigue will explore Cervantes’s impact on not only fiction, but society as we know it.

The Instituto Cervantes Library recently presented an exhibit in honor of the 400th anniversary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes. We prepared a selection of the original works, adaptations, translations, criticism and biographies. If you would like to learn more about the life and works of Cervantes, on 21 July we will celebrate the opening of the exhibit Quijotes por el mundo (Quijotes around the world) in our gallery.
