Birkbeck University of London and Instituto Cervantes offer this course called «Nationalism, Revolution and Dictatorships in Latin America» which delves into the history of Latin America in the ‘short twentieth century’ through cities, industrialisation, popular political movements, imperialism, revolution, dictatorship and neo-liberalism. With a focus on the examples of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba and Mexico, we will evaluate and explain the major socio-historical trends and exceptions in the region.
