A la hora de aprender español la Gramática se convierte no sólo en un reto para el estudiante  sino también para el profesor.

Muchos estudiantes encuentran dificultad en el aprendizaje de los siguientes conceptos:

Ser/estar, imperfecto/indefinido, indicativo/subjuntivo, construcciones valorativas y verbos pronominales, preposiciones, artículo determinado, pronombres.

¿Cómo facilitar al estudiante el aprendizaje de la Gramática? A través de este curso intentaremos dar respuesta a esta pregunta. Analizaremos cuáles son los contenidos gramaticales que resultan más complejos para los estudiantes de ELE y la razón. También analizaremos cómo deben de enseñarse estos contenidos.

Si eres profesor o quieres dedicarte a la enseñanza y cuentas con un nivel C1 este curso puede serte muy útil para facilitar el aprendizaje a tus alumnos o futuros alumnos.

When learning Spanish, grammar can be as difficult for the instructor as it is for the student. How do we the learning of grammar easier­­? Through this course we will try to resolve this question.

We cover the more complex grammatical constructions (ser/estar, imperfect/indefinite, indicative / subjunctive, reflexive verbs, prepositions, definite articles, object pronouns)

We will also cover, how those contents should be taught.

If you are already an instructor or you would like to further your education in this field and you already possess a C2 level of Spanish knowledge, this course can be really useful for you to improve your own grammar, as well as your ability to instruct your students.

El Instituto Cervantes, con la colaboración de NYU, organizará el próximo 22 de marzo de 10h a 14h la V Jornada para profesores de español sobre la enseñanza del español como lengua heredada dentro del contexto de enseñanza K-12.

¿Cómo adaptar una clase para estudiantes de español que han crecido con el idioma en casa? ¿Cómo mantener la atención de estos estudiantes en clase? ¿Qué contenidos se les puede enseñar?¿Cómo potenciar el hecho de que hablen dos lenguas teniendo en cuenta su componente afectivo? Éstas son algunas de las cuestiones que se tratarán en la próxima jornada de profesores.

Los ponentes son especialistas de la talla de Kim Potowski, profesora de lingüística hispánica en la Universidad de Illinois en Chicago, y Karen Beeman, formadora de maestros y directores a nivel nacional y miembro del Illinois Resource Center.

El curso combinará teoría y práctica y se hará especial hincapié en la reflexión. Además, todos los participantes recibirán un certificado de asistencia.

Instituto Cervantes in collaboration with NYU, this upcoming March 22nd from 10AM to 2PM will hold the 5th Workshop for Spanish teachers about the teaching of Spanish as a heritage language in grades K-12.

How do you design courses for Spanish students that have grown up with the language in their home? How do you keep these students engaged? What areas should you focus your lessons on? How do teachers maximize the benefit that these students speak both languages? These are just some of the questions that will be covered in this next workshop.

The speakers are experts in this field, and include Kim Potowski, Professor of Spanish Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and Karen Beeman, educational specialist and advocate from the Illinois Resource Center.

The course will combine theory and practice and will provide specific emphasis on reflection. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Como todos los años llega el Winter break. ¿Con quién dejo a mis hijos? ¿Qué van a hacer durante este tiempo? Son las principales preguntas que los padres se hacen cuando nos aproximamos a estas fechas.

Estos días son unas mini- vacaciones para que nuestros peques puedan jugar, divertirse, pero también son una gran oportunidad para seguir aprendiendo. Por ello el Instituto Cervantes organiza un campamento desde el próximo 18 al 21 de febrero de 9h a 14h para que los niños (de 4 a 13 años )  aprendan o refuercen su español en un programa de inmersión total, donde éste será el único idioma.

Con una gran experiencia, nuestras profesoras Daniela (de Chile); Lola (de Argentina) Leyma (de Cuba) y María y Carmen (de España) serán las encargadas, con canciones, teatro , manualidades, vídeos y cuentacuentos entre otras técnicas de enseñanza, de transmitir nuestro idioma y la cultura hispánica.

Another Winter break will soon be upon us. And the same as every year parents are left wondering, Who do I leave my kids with? What are they going to do during this time?

Why not treat these days as little vacations for our little ones to play, enjoy themselves, but also seize the opportunity to continue learning. We’re here to help! Instituto Cervantes organizes a Spanish camp from starting the 18th until the 21st, from 9am to 2pm for kids (ages 4 to 13 ) to learn or improve their Spanish in a full inmersion program.

With great care and years of experience, our skilled teachers Daniela (from Chile); Lola (from Argentina) Leyma (from Cuba) and María and Carmen (from Spain) will lead the kids through songs, theatre, art crafts, videos, and storytelling among many other teaching tecniques that transmit the culture and language of Spanish.

Mientras Miami rinde homenaje a España en el 30 aniversario de la Feria Internacional del Libro, Orlando acoge, del 21 al 24 de noviembre ACTFL, el Foro Internacional de intercambio de lenguas extranjeras más importante del año.

Organizado por “The American Council on the Teaching of foreign languages”, ACTFL reúne a profesores de lenguas extranjeras de enseñanza reglada, investigadores, editoriales, instituciones culturales y universidades norteamericanas e internacionales.

Por supuesto, un año más, contará con la presencia del Instituto Cervantes que, a través de su personal especializado del área de académica de las delegaciones de New York y Chicago, responderá como institución de referencia en la enseñanza del español y de la cultura hispánica a las consultas de los profesionales y organizaciones del sector. Entre otros temas, tendremos información sobre nuestra enseñanza en línea a través del aula virtual AVE, cursos de español, DELE (Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language) ; formación de profesores y la promoción de la Red de Centros Acreditados y Asociados.

While Miami honors Spain in its 30 anniversary celebration of The“Miami Book Fair International” in Orlando, from November 21^st to 24^th, brings us the ACTFL convention, an important Annual Convention and World Language Expo. Organized by “The American Council on the Teaching of foreign languages”.

ACTFL, brings together teachers of foreign languages; researchers; publishers; cultural institutions and national and international universities.

For yet another year, ACTFL will have the presence of Instituto Cervantes, which through the academic expertise of its New York and Chicago delegations, will answer the questions of professionals and organizations, as the reference institution for the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language and the promotion of Hispanic culture. Among other topics, we will provide information about our online courses through our “aula virtual”, traditional spanish courses, DELE (Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language) ; teachers’ workshops and  the  promotion of our network of the accredited centers and examination centers.

Without a doubt, Instituto Cervantes will take this event as an opportunity to learn about the needs of its stakeholders for whom Spanish instruction is a daily commitment.
