Angela and her son Guille travel to the big city to see Leo, her father and the boy’s grandfather, when he suddenly takes ill. However, they arrive to discover that he has just passed away. Charo, the dead man’s mistress, explains the dire straits suffered by the paternal business: a hall with seven billiard tables. Charo is convinced that the only way to pay off the debts is to sell the place. However, Angela learns that her husband has disappeared in mysterious circumstances. Given this painful reality, Angela resolves to get on and rebuild her life. And the first thing she decides to do is put her savings into getting the old place and its seven tables back up on its feet.

Ángela y su hijo Guille viajan a la gran ciudad ante la repentina enfermedad de Leo, padre de ella y abuelo del chaval. Cuando llegan, Leo acaba de morir. Es Charo, amante del difunto, la que pone a Ángela al corriente de la ruina del negocio paterno: un local en el que se alinean siete mesas de billar francés. Para Charo, la única solución ante la deuda es vender. Poco después, Ángela tiene noticia de que su marido ha desaparecido en oscuras circunstancias. A partir de esta dolorosa realidad, Ángela se empeña en salir adelante y reconstruir su vida. Y lo primero que decide es emplear sus ahorros en volver a poner en marcha el viejo local de las siete mesas.

Obsessive idealist Sebastian has sworn to direct a film about one of the world’s most iconic figures, Christopher Columbus. But not for him the lie of a genius hero on a divine mission to win “souls for Christ”. Sebastian is determined to overturn the myth of the arrival of Western Civilization in the Americas as a force for good.

His film will show what Columbus set in motion: the obsession with gold, the taking of slaves, and the terrible violence visited on those Indians who fought back. The brilliant actor playing Columbus constantly challenges the director, accusing him of hypocrisy and cheap manipulation.

Costa, Sebastian’s friend and producer doesn’t give a damn. All that matters is that the film comes in on time and within budget. Costa has a crazy plan. Despite Sebastian’s fury, they will shoot in Bolivia, the cheapest, most “Indian” of  Latin American countries. While the shoot progresses in and around the city of  Cochabamba, civil and political unrest simmer, as the entire water supply of the city is privatized and sold to a British/American multinational.

Violence increases daily until the entire city explodes in the now infamous Bolivian Water War – a war which actually took place in April 2000. 500 years after Columbus, sticks and stones once again confront the high-tech weaponry of a modern army. David against Goliath. Only this time the fight is not over gold, but the simplest of lifegiving elements – water.

Costa, un descreído productor de cine, y Sebastián, joven e idealista realizador, trabajan juntos en un proyecto ambicioso que van a rodar en Bolivia. La cinta que van a filmar tratará sobre la llegada de los españoles a América poniendo el acento en la brutalidad de su empresa y en el coraje de varios miembros de la Iglesia que se enfrentaron con palabras a las espadas y las cadenas.

Pero Costa y Sebastián no pueden imaginar que en Bolivia, donde han decidido instalar su Santo Domingo cinematográfico, les espera un desafío que les hará tambalearse hasta lo más profundo. Tan pronto como estalla la Guerra del Agua (abril de 2000) las convicciones de uno y el desapego del otro comienzan a resquebrajarse, obligándoles a hacer un viaje emocional en sentidos opuestos.

Today is the last session of the 10 years entertaining through laughter, singing, dancing and…football film series. You still have the chance to taste the very best of Spanish cinema with the comedy Football Days. Jorge is thirty and thinks his life can’t possibly get any worse. He finds his work depressing and his girlfriend leaves him when he asks her to marry him. But things can always get worse and to see the truth in this he only has to look at his friends. Ramón can’t decide what gets at him most; his wives crazy ideas or his lost battle against baldness. Gonzalo has been studying law for as long as he’s been looking for a girlfriend. Carlos hopes to become an important actor but has got no further than a minor part in the teleshop. Miguel is a policeman and the father of a family but his dream is to be a singersongwriter; that is if his wife lets him. The only one who seems to have his life under control is Antonio but this doesn’t mean much as he has just come out of prison. The brilliant solution for changing their lives is to set up the football team they had in their youth and finally win something in life even if it’s only the Football 7 trophy.

Jorge tiene treinta años y piensa que su vida no puede empeorar. Su trabajo le deprime y su novia le deja cuando él le pide matrimonio. Pero las cosas siempre pueden ir a peor y como muestra sólo hay que echar un vistazo a sus amigos: Ramón no sabe que le saca más de quicio, si las ocurrencias de su mujer, o su más que perdida lucha contra la alopecia; Gonzalo lleva tanto tiempo estudiando Derecho como buscando novia; Carlos aspira a ser un gran actor pero no ha pasado de ser secundario en la teletienda; Miguel es policía y padre de familia pero su sueño es ser cantautor, eso si su mujer le deja. El único que parece llevar controladas las riendas de su vida es Antonio, pero eso no quiere decir mucho teniendo en cuenta que acaba de salir de la cárcel. La brillante solución para cambiar sus vidas es volver a montar el equipo de fútbol que tenían de jóvenes, y por fin ganar algo en su vida, aunque sea un trofeo de fútbol 7.

Esta película tuvo 2,5 millones de espectadores en cines.

A comedy set in 1977 in which a prestigious, anti-francoist playwright tries to film a drama of social condemnation starring a downcast folksinger who was a former child prodigy. Comedia ambientada en 1977, en la que un prestigioso autor de teatro y antifranquista intenta rodar un drama de denuncia social protagonizado por una folclórica de capa caída, antigua niña prodigio y producida por un productor mentiroso y caradura. La inexperiencia, la ambición, la falta de medios y la relación amor-odio del director con la protagonista convertirán el rodaje en una locura.
