Summer is the perfect moment to improve your children’s Spanish while they also have fun. We offer you a week theatre workshop running next week from Monday to Friday from 2pm to 5pm. The workshop will be conducted in Spanish by  Sandra Villegas, Director of The Latin Sphere Theatre.

Taking part in a theatrical performance, storytelling, singing, etc., the play and the technique of improvisation will be the starting point for exploring different themes. Through entertainment and theatre education, children will learn to develop verbal expression and body language, explore their imagination, stimulate new ideas and express themselves. Theatre helps children to understand and control their emotions, build self-esteem, gain respect and discover the discipline and routine of hard work. It teaches them how to participate in teamwork as well as how to engage with members of the public.

Sandra Villegas completed post-graduate studies at UCD, where she gained her Masters in Directing for Theatre. She also received a diploma in drama and theatre from NUI Maynooth, and holds a degree in theatre, drama, acting and directing from CUNY (City University of New York). Sandra has trained on Broadway in New York, founded The Latin Sphere Theatre company in Dublin and has facilitated numerous theatre workshops for organisations like LASC (Latin American Solidarity Centre) and Banúlacht.

El verano es el momento ideal para mejorar el español de tus hijos mientras se divierten. La próxima semana te ofrecemos un taller de teatro de lunes a viernes de 14:00 a 17:00 de la tarde. El taller es en español y estará impartido por Sandra Villegas, Directora de The Latin Sphere Theatre.

Partiendo de una obra de teatro, cuento, canción, etc., el juego y la técnica de improvisación serán el punto de partida para explorar distintos temas. En un campo de diversión y educación teatral, los niños estarán expuestos a desarrollar su expresión verbal y corporal, explorar su imaginación, fomentar sus sentidos, motivar su pensamiento y jugar con su fantasía. Con el teatro los niños aumentan su autoestima, aprenden a respetar y convivir en grupo, conocen y controlan sus emociones, descubren lo que es la disciplina y la constancia en el trabajo, además de desenvolverse entre el público.

Sandra Villegas completó su posgrado en UCD obteniendo una maestría en dirección de teatro. También  recibió un diploma en drama y teatro de NUI Maynooth, y su licenciatura en teatro, dramaturgia, actuación y dirección de CUNY (City College of NY). Sandra hizo un período  de prácticas en el prestigioso Broadway de Nueva York. Sandra fundó la compañía The Latin Sphere Theatre en Dublín y ha facilitado talleres de teatro para organizaciones como LASC y  Banúlacht.
