Donación del ICEX a la biblioteca del Instituto Cervantes
Tenemos el placer de informar a los usuarios de la biblioteca y amigos del instituto Cervantes que la seleccion de libros New Spanish Books 2014 del proyecto del ICEX, España Exportación e Inversiones, en colaboración con el Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte y la Federación de Gremios de Editores (FGEE), se encuentran ya en nuestra biblioteca disponibles para su préstamo.
Agradecemos al ICEX la generosa donación de éstos libros que han pasado ya a formar parte de nuestra colección.
ICEX donation to the Instituto Cervantes library
We are pleased to inform our users and friends of the Instituto Cervantes that the selection of books from the project New Spanish Books 2014- an on-line guide of Spanish titles with available rights for translation, funded by the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX), in collaboration with the Spanish Publishers’ Association and the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture & Sport – are already in the library available to be borrowed.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the ICEX for their generosity that will contribute to to increase our library collection.

Tenemos el placer de anunciar que hoy se inaugurará oficialmente la Biblioteca Reina Sofía. A continuación de los discursos, su Majestad inaugurará una muestra de libros de viajes sobre España del siglo XVIII al XX. Estos textos también se encuentran disponibles en EL Centro Virtual Cervantes, CVC. Esta exposición virtual se presentó en Madrid el 12 de octubre de 2013 con la colaboración de Google.
It is our pleasure to announce the inauguration of the Reina Sofia Library today. Following the inauguration speeches in the library, Her Majesty will inaugurate the exhibition of travel books on Spain written between the XVIII and the XX Century. These books can be also found in a virtual exhibition in El Centro Virtual Cervantes, CVC. This project was launched in Madrid the 12 of Oct 2013 in collaboration with Google.

INAUGURACIÓN DE LA EXPOSICIÓN VIRTUAL DE LOS LIBROS DE VIAJEROS EN LA BIBLIOTECA DE LONDRES
La imagen de España en los viajeros extranjeros:
la colección de libros de viaje del Instituto Cervantes de Londres
Queremos anunciar que hoy se ha presentado en Madrid la exposición virtual La imagen de España en los Viajeros extranjeros http://cvc.cervantes.es/literatura/viajeros/default.htm que refleja la forma en que España ha sido representada al o lardo de los dos últimos siglos, usando como base la importante colección que tenemos aquí en la biblioteca del Instituto Cervantes de Londres.
En esta exposición encontrará autores del Reino Unido, Estados Unidos, Irlanda, Canadá y Australia que escribieron sus obras entre 1750 y 1950. La exposición ha sido comisariada por Alberto Egéa Montesinos, profesor de la Universidad de Sevilla, con contribuciones como la de Geoff West de la bibioteca Británica, Juan Antonio Díaz López y Michael Jacobs.

We would like to announce you that today the Centro Virtual Cervantes presented the digital exhibition of La imagen de España en los Viajeros extranjeros (The image about Spain among foreign travellers ) http://cvc.cervantes.es/literatura/viajeros/default.htm which reflects the ways in which Spain has been represented over the last two centuries, using as a basis the important collection of books on travel to Spain of the Instituto Cervantes Library in London.
In this exhibition you will find authors from the UK, USA, Ireland, Canada and Australia, who wrote their works between 1750 and 1950. A superb collection. To celebrate the international Women’s day, the library of the Instituto Cervantes in London proposes watching a documentary produced by the Department of Culture of the Government of the Aragon Region in Spain dedicated to Maria Moliner, author of the dictionary of the Spanish and librarian.

Nos gustaría compartir con vosotros en este día de San Valentín un estremecedor cortometraje de Arturo Ruiz Serrano, “Paseo” (2008), con la Guerra Civil como telón de fondo, en donde se recita una maravillosa poesía de AMOR (ver abajo) del escritor uruguayo Marío Benedetti. ¡ Esperamos que os guste ¡
La historia
El cortometraje es un homenaje a todas las víctimas de la última Guerra Civil española (1936-1939),
las vivas y las muertas, de derecha y de izquierda. Un poeta bohemio (José Sacristán), un campesino analfabeto e inofensivo encarnado (Paco Tous) y un joven soldado herido (Carlos Santos),
comparten sus últimos minutos de existencia antes de ser ‘paseados’.

This Valentine’s day We would love to share with you a very powerful shortfilm by Arturo Ruiz Serrano “Paseo”, 2008 (Walk) about the Spanish Civil War where a LOVE poem (see below) by -the Uruguayan writer- Mario Benedetti is been recited. We hope you’ll enjoy it !
The story
The shortfilm is a homage to all the Spanish Civil War (1036-1939) victims, the ones who died and the ones who are still alive; the right-wing ones and the left-wing ones. A bohemiam poet (José Sacristán), an illiterate and innocent peasant (Paco Tous) and a young wounded soldier (Carlos Santos), shared the last few minutes of their lives before «they» are given them a «walk».
