The painter and art critic Julian Bell discusses with publisher Stephen Hayward and cultural correspondent Lourdes Gómez his illustrations for Sketches of Spain, the first ever UK publication of Federico García Lorca’s earliest published work, Impresiones y paisajes. In Spanish and English, organised by Serifbooks and in collaboration with Instituto Cervantes Londres.

En esta conferencia dictada en el Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso el 10 de noviembre pasado, el estudioso británico Hugh Thomas —autor de diversos libros sobre la cultura española como El imperio español: de Colón a Magallanes, La conquista de México y Yo Moctezuma, emperador de los aztecas—, se lanza a buscar las huellas del Amadís de Gaula y en general de las novelas de caballerías en la mentalidad de los conquistadores.

In this lecture, first given at the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso on 10 November last year, the scholarly Briton Hugh Thomas – author of many books on Spanish culture including Rivers of Gold – The Rise of the Spanish Empire: from Columbus to Magellan, The Conquest of Mexico, and I Moctezuma, emperor of the Aztecs sets off in search of signs of Amadis of Gaul and of other novels of chivalry in the mentality of the ‘conquistadores’.

Easter in the beach house of a Chilean well-to-do and nowadays family. A self-centered and successful father, a disoriented mother and a son overshadowed by his successful father. The three of them, wait for the arrival of the son’s first official girlfriend; a disturbing and rebellious young lady who will invade the house with her powerful sexual load and other «gifts», breaking loose an emotional cataclysm with no stepping back.

Supersubmarina es una banda de Jaén, ciudad en la que comienzan en el año 2006 sus cuatro componentes: José «Chino», voz y guitarras; Jaime, guitarras y voces; Juancar, batería y Pope, bajo y voces. En el año 2008 firman por Octubre/Sony y por Universal Publishing. Desde entonces han editado el álbum Electroviral y el EP Realimentación. Anteriormente, publicaron dos EPs cuyas canciones serían incluídas en Electroviral.

Their music is vibrant, melodic and fresh with a well-balanced mixture of guitar riffs, powerful vocals and pop melodies.
