Aviso de interrupción temporal del servicio de préstamo y reserva de libros electrónicos / Aankondiging van de tijdelijke onderbreking van de toegang tot het lenen en reserveren van digitale boeken
El servicio de préstamo y reserva de libros electrónicos quedará interrumpido del 16 de febrero al 1 de marzo de 2021, por cambios tecnológicos
Como parte del proceso de innovación tecnológica del Instituto Cervantes, el martes día 16 de febrero está prevista una migración del servicio de préstamo de libros electrónicos a una nueva plataforma digital que supondrá una notable mejora y nuevas funcionalidades del servicio para los usuarios de la biblioteca electrónica del Instituto Cervantes.
Hasta el lunes 1 de marzo, algunos servicios de préstamo – préstamo y la reserva de libros electrónicos- se verán interrumpidos excepcionalmente durante trece días, aunque se mantendrá el acceso a los audiolibros electrónicos y a las bases de datos.
Con el objetivo de prestarle el mejor servicio y que dicha interrupción le cause las mínimas molestias, se prorrogará la validez de los carnés de la biblioteca electrónica a todos los usuarios de manera gratuita dos meses. Desde el sistema de gestión bibliotecaria recibirán una notificación con la nueva fecha de caducidad de su carné y se prorrogarán, también, los plazos de los libros ya prestados hasta el 16 de marzo.
Aunque recibirá información detallada al respecto, le adelantamos que la migración a la nueva plataforma implicará que realice algunos cambios en el software instalado en sus dispositivos:
• La aplicación Libros-e deberá ser sustituida por la aplicación de la nueva plataforma y deberá desinstalar la anterior versión de Google Play o de Apple Store en su dispositivo, para lo que recibirá un aviso por correo electrónico.
• En el caso de no tener instalado en su ordenador Adobe Digital Edición, deberá crear un nuevo ID.
Cuando la nueva aplicación se ponga en marcha, el Instituto Cervantes le ofrecerá un servicio de atención al usuario por si necesitara ayuda en este proceso.
Otros servicios de nuestra Biblioteca como el del Club Virtual de Lectura seguirá su calendario previsto a partir del próximo mes de abril, por lo que le animamos a participar en la lectura de la obra del reciente Premio Cervantes 2020, el poeta Francisco Brines.

Vanwege technische aanpassingen is het van 16 februari tot en met 1 maart 2021 niet mogelijk digitale boeken te lenen of te reserveren.
Als onderdeel van het proces van technologische innovatie van het Instituto Cervantes, zal de digitale bibliotheek op dinsdag 16 februari overschakelen op een nieuwe digitaal platform, met als doel een betere service en nieuwe functionaliteiten voor de gebruikers van de online bibliotheek van Instituto Cervantes.
Tot en met maandag 1 maart zal bij uitzondering een aantal leenfaciliteiten – het lenen en reserveren van digitale boeken – niet toegankelijk zijn gedurende 13 dagen. Toegang tot de digitale luisterboeken en tot de databases blijft wel mogelijk.
Om u optimale service te verlenen en te zorgen dat u zo min mogelijk hinder ondervindt van de overgang, zal de geldigheidsduur van alle bibliotheekpassen van gebruikers van de digitale bibliotheek gratis worden verlengd met 3 weken. Vanuit het bibliotheeksysteem ontvangt u een bericht met daarin de nieuwe uiterste geldigheidsdatum, en bovendien wordt de leentermijn van de boeken verlengd tot 16 maart.
Binnenkort ontvangt u alle benodigde informatie, maar we wijzen u er alvast op dat als gevolg van de overgang naar het nieuwe platform het noodzakelijk zal zijn een aantal wijzigingen door te voeren in de software die geïnstalleerd is op uw apparaat:
• De applicatie E-books dient vervangen te worden door de applicatie van het nieuwe platform en de eerdere versie van Google Play of Apple Store dient verwijderd te worden van uw apparaat. U ontvangt hierover binnenkort bericht van ons via de mail.
• In het geval dat u geen Adobe Digital Edition geínstalleerd heeft op uw apparaat, dient u een nieuwe ID aan te maken.
Als de nieuwe applicatie wordt gestart, biedt het Instituto Cervantes u via haar klantenservice, indien nodig, hulp en ondersteuning gedurende het proces.
Andere diensten van onze Bibliotheek zoals de Vrituele Leesclub, zal haar programma vervolgen in de maand april, waarvoor we u van harte uitnodigen het boek te lezen dat onlangs de Cervantes 2020 prijs ontving, geschreven door de dichter Fransciso Brines.

El Instituto Cervantes y AIE (Asociación de Artistas, Intérpretes y Ejecutantes) colaboran durante la octava edición de la Bienal de Flamenco en la organización de dos conciertos de Flamenco Jazz de la mano de dos tríos excepcionales del panorama más contemporáneo: Daniel García Diego trío y Pablo Martín Caminero trío.

En estos tiempos inestables y tristes, tu nombramiento como artista del año en los Países Bajos nos ha llegado como una bomba de felicidad y energía. Artista extraordinaria, trabajadora incansable, pintora de cuadros con una fuerza única y desgarradora, te has ganado el reconocimiento a base de dejarte la piel en lo que haces. Inspirada en los clásicos españoles universales, tu arte es original e irrepetible, y el tamaño y la técnica de tus cuadros requiere de una fuerza vital que es la de los genios, artística y física al mismo tiempo.
Desde el Instituto Cervantes de Utrecht aprovechamos esta ocasión para hacerte este pequeño homenaje, con el que queremos compartir tu éxito y agradecerte tu amistad. Desde el día que nos conocimos, has sido siempre generosa con nosotros. Por mencionar dos momentos: participaste con un cuadro Old master nude en la exposición de Mujeres De Musas a Creadoras: artistas españolas y latinoamericanas en los Países Bajos que montamos con motivo del Día Internacional de la Mujer en 2019: ese fabuloso retrato estuvo colgado durante varias semanas en la escalera principal de nuestro histórico edificio en el Domplein de la ciudad.
Más recientemente, cuando el comienzo de la pandemia nos impidió celebrar de la forma tradicional el Día del Libro en abril de 2021 y necesitábamos una imagen poderosa para fortalecer la convocatoria virtual, nos dejaste utilizar tu Don Quijote (Don Quichote 08)un cuadro estremecedor y único con el que conseguimos llegar al alma de cientos de amantes de la literatura española y latinoamericana.
¡Gracias, Lita! Por tu amistad, por tu generosidad, pero sobre todo por hacer que nos sintamos tan orgullosos de una mujer y una artista española que a base de talento y del trabajo de décadas es reconocida ya universalmente como una de las grandes de este siglo.

In deze onstabiele en verdrietige tijden is jouw benoeming tot Kunstenaar van het Jaar 2021 in Nederland een enorm lichtpunt voor ons. Je bent een bijzondere kunstenaar, onvermoeibare werker, schilderes van doeken met een unieke en hartverscheurende kracht, je hebt erkenning verdiend door altijd alles te geven. Geïnspireerd door de Spaanse klassiekers, is je kunst origineel en uniek, en de grootte en techniek van je schilderijen vereist een vitale kracht, die alleen genieën bezitten, kunstzinnig en fysiek tegelijk.
Vanuit het Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht maken we van de gelegenheid gebruik om je dit kleine eerbetoon te brengen, waarmee we je succes willen delen en je bedanken voor je vriendschap. Sinds de dag dat we elkaar ontmoetten, ben je altijd zo aardig voor ons geweest. Om twee momenten te noemen: je nam met je schilderij Old master nude deel aan de tentoonstelling De Musas a Creadoras: artistas españolas y latinoamericanas en los Países Bajos die we organiseerden ter gelegenheid van Internationale Vrouwendag in 2019: dat fantastische portret hing wekenlang boven de hoofdtrap van ons monumentale pand aan het Domplein.
En pas geleden, toen het begin van de pandemie ons ervan weerhield om de Boekendag 2020 op traditionele manier te vieren en we een krachtig beeld nodig hadden om de online oproep te versterken, mochten we jouw unieke en schokkende schilderij van Don Quichot (Don Quichote 08) gebruiken, waarmee we honderden liefhebbers van Spaanse en Latijns-Amerikaanse literatuur wisten te raken.
Dank je wel, Lita! Voor je vriendschap, voor je vrijgevigheid, maar vooral omdat je ervoor hebt gezorgd dat we trots kunnen zijn op een Spaanse vrouw en kunstenaar die, op basis van talent en jarenlange inzet, nu overal erkend wordt als een van de groten van deze eeuw.

In these unstable and bleak times, your nomination as Artist of the year 2020 in the Netherlands reaches us like an explosion of happiness and energy. An extraordinary artist, a tireless worker, a painter of pictures with a unique and heartbreaking strength, you have earned recognition by achieving excellence at what you do. Inspired by the universal Spanish classics, your art is original and unrepeatable, and the size and technique of your paintings requires the vital energy that comes with genius, artistic and physical at the same time.
From the Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht, we make the most of this occasion to pay you this small tribute: our intention is both to share your success with you and your team and to thank you for your friendship. From the day we met, you have always been generous to us. Just to mention two highlights: you participated with you Old master nude painting in the exhibition Women, From Muses to Creators: Spanish and Latin American artists in the Netherlands that we produced for International Women’s Day in 2019: that fabulous portrait hung for several weeks on the main staircase of our historic building on the city’s Domplein.
More recently, when the onset of the pandemic prevented us from celebrating our Book Day in the traditional way in April 2020, and we needed a powerful image to strengthen the appeal of the online event, you let us use your portrait of Don Quixote (Don Quichote 08), an impressive painting that managed to reach the souls of hundreds of lovers of Spanish and Latin American literature.
Thank you, Lita! For your friendship, for your generosity, but above all for making us feel so proud of a Spanish woman, an artist who, thanks to her talent and decades of work, is now universally recognised as one of the great painters of this century.

Lluvia fina, sesión de octubre del club de lectura / Bijeenkomst van de leesclub
Ya tenemos con nosotros el resumen de la última sesión del Club de lectura de la Biblioteca del Instituto Cervantes de Utrecht. Este encuentro lo hemos dedicamos al escritor español Luis Landero. María Mayench es la encargada en esta ocasión de presentarnos el resumen de la sesión (texto literario, sólo en español, lengua de creación elegida por el autor).
Hierbij bieden we u de samenvatting aan van de laatste bijeenkomst van dit seizoen van de Leesclub van de bibliotheek van Instituto Cervantes te Utrecht. De bijeenkomst van maart ging over de Spaanse schrijver Luis Landero. María is deze keer aan de beurt om een samenvatting te presenteren van de bijeenkomst (literaire tekst, alleen in het Spaans, taal van de samenvatting wordt gekozen door de schrijver).
En el club de lectura del día 16 de octubre tratamos la obra de Luis Landero, Lluvia fina, considerada una de las mejores novelas del año 2019. El protagonista de la obra, Gabriel, con la intención de celebrar el 80 aniversario de su madre, se propone reunir a toda la familia. Sin embargo, de manera inintencionada, abre las viejas heridas del pasado y vuelve a sacar a la luz los rencores que creía olvidados.
Durante la tertulia pudimos contrastar las diferentes las opiniones acerca de la novela, así como las distintas apreciaciones de cada uno de los lectores. Coincidimos en cómo el autor aborda de manera magistral los diversos puntos de vista de cada uno de los perfiles que tejen la historia, así como la inevitable crítica humana que hay envelada detrás de todos ellos. Se trata, pues, de un carrusel de personajes mediante los cuales Landero hace un retrato de la sociedad y de lo que las familias esconden puertas adentro, en la intimidad de sus hogares.
Juan Gómez Bárcena -European Literature Night
La Noche Europea de la Literatura, un proyecto de EUNIC Países Bajos, reúne a autores célebres y otros talentos literarios de toda Europa. Es un espacio de exploración, de comprensión de las diferencias y de reconocimiento de las similitudes, que pretende un replantamiento del concepto de «europeidad» tanto por parte de los autores como del público. El tema de este año es «La literatura, el antídoto».
Nunca antes habíamos estado tan conectados y tan aislados al mismo tiempo. ¿Cómo será nuestro mundo después de la pandemia? Según Arundhati Roy, la Covid-19 «es un portal, una vía de entrada entre un mundo y el siguiente», que «obliga a los humanos a romper con el pasado e imaginar su mundo». ¿Cómo podemos imaginar este mundo? ¿Qué puede predecir la literatura a partir de la experiencia de los últimos meses en Europa? Escuchemos a los escritores europeos de hoy, las antenas de nuestras sociedades. ¿Puede la literatura ser un antídoto?.
El escritor español invitado en esta ocasión es Juan Gómez Bárcena (Santander, 1984), licenciado en Teoría de la Literatura y Literatura Comparada, en Filosofía y en Historia. Es autor de la novela El cielo de Lima (Salto de Página, 2014), editada en neerlandés por Wereldbibliotheek con el título De hemel boven Lima. Su libro de relatos Los que duermen (Salto de Página, 2012) fue considerada una de las mejores primera obras de 2012. Recibió el premio La Tormenta al mejor autor revelación. Juan participó virtualmente en nuestro club de lectura el pasado mes de abril, con su reciente novela Kanada (Sexto Piso, 2017), que será publicada en breve en neerlandés por la misma editorial holandesa. Su última novela se llama Ni siquiera los muertos y ha sido editada este mismo año en España, también por la editorial Sexto Piso.
Este año La Noche de la Literatura Europea forma parte del Foro de Cultura Europea de De Balie, y se presenta también en relación con el Estado de la Literatura Europea, una conferencia anual protagonizada este año por Philipp Blom y coorganizada con la Universidad de Ámsterdam (Facultad de Humanidades, ACES, con el apoyo de OSL).

De European Literature Night, een project van EUNIC Netherlands, brengt zowel gevierde auteurs als veelbelovend literair talent uit heel Europa samen. Het is een ruimte voor verkenning, voor het begrijpen van verschillen en het erkennen van overeenkomsten, en het opnieuw vormgeven van ‘Europeaan-zijn’ voor zowel auteurs als publiek. Het thema van dit jaar is ‘Literatuur, het tegengif’.
Nooit eerder waren we zo verbonden en tegelijkertijd zo geïsoleerd. Hoe ziet onze wereld eruit na de pandemie? Volgens Arundhati Roy is Covid-19 ‘een portaal, een poort tussen de ene wereld en de volgende’, die ‘mensen dwingt te breken met het verleden en zich hun wereld opnieuw voor te stellen’. Hoe kunnen we ons deze wereld voorstellen? Wat kan literatuur voorspellen op basis van de ervaringen van de afgelopen maanden in Europa? Laten we luisteren naar de Europese schrijvers van vandaag, de antennes van onze samenlevingen. Kan literatuur een tegengif zijn?
De uitgenodigde Spaanse schrijver bij deze gelegenheid is Juan Gómez Bárcena (Santander, 1984). Hij is afgestudeerd in de Literatuurwetenschap, Filosofie en Geschiedenis. Hij is de auteur van de roman El cielo de Lima (Salto de Página, 2014), in het Nederlands uitgegeven door Wereldbibliotheek onder de titel De hemel boven Lima. Zijn boek met korte verhalen Los que duermen (Salto de Página, 2012) werd beschouwd als een van de beste eerste werken van 2012. Hij ontving de La Tormenta-prijs voor de meest opvallende nieuwe schrijver. Juan nam afgelopen april virtueel deel aan onze leesclub met zijn recente roman Kanada (Sexto Piso, 2017), die binnenkort in het Nederlands zal verschijnen bij dezelfde Nederlandse uitgever. Zijn nieuwste roman Ni siquiera los muertos kwam dit jaar in Spanje uir, ook bij uitgeverij Sexto Piso.
De European Literature Night maakt dit jaar deel uit van het Forum on European Culture en gaat gepaard met de State of European Literature , een keynote die mede wordt georganiseerd door de UvA (Faculteit Geesteswetenschappen, ACES, ondersteund door OSL). Deze jaarlijkse lezing, dit jaar ingehuldigd door Philipp Blom , behandelt de staat van de literatuur in Europa en de staat van Europa vanuit literatuurperspectief.
De Literatuuravond vindt plaats in De Brakke Grond, op vrijdag 18 september van 21.00 – 23.00 uur. Om fysiek de Literatuurnacht bij te wonen, kun je kaartjes kopen op de website van het Forum on European Culture , waar je ook biografieën van de auteurs kunt vinden. Je kunt het evenement ook gratis via livestream bekijken. De livestream is te vinden op verschillende platforms, bijvoorbeeld op het YouTube-kanaal van het Forum on European Culture of op onze eigen Facebookpagina.
The European Literature Night, a EUNIC Netherlands project, brings together both celebrated authors and promising literary talents from all over Europe. The Spanish writer invited on this occasion is Juan Gómez Bárcena (Santander, 1984), who holds degrees in Literary Theory and Compared Literature, in Philosophy and in History. He is the author of the novel El cielo de Lima (Salto de Página, 2014), published in Dutch by Wereldbibliotheek under the title De hemel boven Lima. His book of short stories Los que duermen (Salto de Página, 2012) was considered one of the best first works of 2012. He received the La Tormenta award to the most outstanding new writer. Juan participated virtually in our book club last April, with his recent novel Kanada (Sexto Piso, 2017), which will be published shortly in Dutch by the same publisher in the Netherlands. His latest novel is called Not Even the Dead and has been published this year in Spain, also by the publisher Sexto Piso.
The European Literature Night is this year part of the Forum on European Culture, and paired with the State of European Literature, a key note co-organized by UvA (Faculty of Humanities, ACES, supported by OSL). This annual lecture, this year inaugurated by Philipp Blom, will address the state of literature in Europe and the state of Europe through the perspective of literature.
The Literature Nnight will take place at De Brakke Grond, on Friday the 18th of September from 9.00 pm – 11.00 pm. To attend the Literature Night physically, you can buy tickets on the website of the Forum on European Culture, where you can also find biographies of the authors. You can also watch the event through livestream for free.
